I was his allergen she was his cure what if this allergen turns lethal? novel Chapter 96

Chapter 4

Behind Annie Blakely, her followers started talking at once, as if they were top experts, casually diagnosing me.

“Prison is a place that eats people alive. Even the most normal person, after three years there, wouldn’t come out mentally well

“Exactly. I remember she grew up with her grandmother, always hungry, always uncertain. She must’ve been ill for a long time

“It’s not that big of a deal, it’s just a shame for Young Master Kashton and the child..”

Jack Kashton, in Annie Blakely’s arms, looked up, his eyes, so much like mine, fixed on me.

I only glanced at him for a second, and he screamed.

“Waaah! I’m scared! I don’t want this bad mom!”

Annie Blakely whispered gently,

“Little Jack, it’s okay, Aunt Annie will protect you. No one can hurt you.”

Her leading words made Jack Kashton blurt out,

“Then can Aunt Annie be my mom? I know Aunt Annie likes daddy! Daddy likes Aunt Annie too!”

Carlos Kashton was all about saving face. His face darkened as he coldly scolded,

“Jack Kashton, stop talking nonsense. If you like Aunt Annie, you can’t cause her any trouble.”

But I clearly saw the faint expectation in his eyes.

Looking at this contradictory man, I suddenly found it a bit funny.

I laughed, but as I did, my body gave out, and I fainted without warning.

Damn it, I should’ve just eaten that steamed bun.

When I woke up, the smell of medicine filled the air.

I must be in the hospital.

“Grace, you’re awake?”

I looked up, and unexpectedly, I met a familiar face.

She had been holding me, crying for a long time, almost out of breath.

“You really scared me!”

“You were unconscious for four whole hours! I thought you’d never wake up.

“Didn’t we agree you’d be released at two o’clock? I even postponed my meeting for you, but you ran off with that damn man!”

“Do you have any idea how hard I worked to get the Kashtons out of the way?”

Chapter 4

I weakly pulled at the corner of my mouth, forcing a smile.

“I didn’t want to either. He changed my release time, and there was nothing I could do.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll make it up to you.”

The one holding me was my best friend, Scarlett Forbs, who was supposed to pick me up.

I had walked out of that dark, gloomy door, but the person I wanted to see wasn’t there.

But it was fine; some things needed to be addressed now.

Scarlett Forbs was a well-known lawyer in Amber City, and she was also my best friend.

The reason I managed to survive in prison, under Annie Blakely’s arrangement, was because of the effort she put in behind the scenes.

I had Scarlett draft a divorce agreement for me. I didn’t want anything, just the divorce.

When Carlos came to find me, his face clearly showed, “Stop causing trouble.”

He tossed the signed divorce agreement in front of me and asked with a smile,

“Grace Hope, when you’re done making a scene, come back. Our son and I are waiting for you to come home.”

He seemed to not believe I would give up custody of Jack.

After all, in the past, I had always regarded Jack as my everything.

I once said that Jack Kashton was a treasure that fell from my body, and I would never let go of his hand in this life.
