Chapter 112
Maddox
“Ready to see the suite?” I said to Harper, my hand firmly around her waist as I led her back to the grand hall since that’s where Kate was.
“It’s obviously awesome,” she replied, her tone irritated.
“Is everything okay? You’ve been acting this way since you came back from the ladies‘ room. You sound like Tiffany.”
She twisted her face in disgust as she took a seat. “Please never compare me to her. And why are we back in the hall if we’re supposed to be heading up to the suite?”
I smirked, sitting right beside her. “There’s just one more thing left to see.”
“Which is?”
“You’ll see. Now, tell me what’s going on with you.”
She sighed in protest. “I was with Mrs Ford in the ladies‘ room and she was so mean to me. I thought I was talking to someone else. I grew up in her eyes and she made me so many meals in her kitchen. I didn’t even say anything to make her mean to me. She said the diamond necklace should’ve gone to her daughter–in–law and I just have a habit of still trying to be in the picture as long as she’s involved.”
I scoffed. “I told you before that Mr and Mrs Ford only care about pleasing my family now. And now that there’s a grandchild on the way, Tiffany’s happiness comes first.”
“Aunt Patricia mentioned the difference in attitude some weeks ago. I didn’t think it would be that bad. Mrs Ford was once like a mother to me.”
When she lowered her head with a frown, it got to me so hard that I squeezed her hand.
“I know Mr and Mrs Ford have left with my dad and Margot,” I said, “but I can still make her pay,” I said.
Her head shot up. “What? There’s no need for that. Please?”
Her eyes went round and soft, making my heart skip a beat.
“Fine,” I said. “But if it happens again, she’ll suffer the same fate as Kate.”
She tilted her head, looking over at Kate, who was on the other side of the room with Grayson, Tiffany and a few of her celebrity friends who still wanted a few more drinks before leaving.
“You still haven’t told me about what you’re going to do Kate,” she said.
“I already did it.” I smirked. “That’s why we’re here. It just took a bit longer.”
She pouted, hating the suspense, but I loved the sight of her like that.
Just then, Kate’s voice painfully echoed, “No!”
I looked over as she had her phone against her ear, Tiffany and Grayson getting closer with concern.
The two of them tried to get her attention so she could give them a hint of what was going on, but she was so frantic that she paid no attention to them.
“No, please, what- what- but- what ha- hello? Hello?!”
She desperately screamed into the phone as her voice cracked, not giving a shit about those who were still around.
Breathing hard, she shoved her phone in her purse and rushed towards the exit of the grand hall. Tiffany left her celebrity friends with Grayson as she followed right behind her but couldn’t keep up, making her slow down a bit.
As Kate walked right past me, I leaned back in my seat with a smirk that I wanted her to see. She paused, her eyes already red as a tear rolled down her cheek.
Then, she faced the open doors again, rushing out while wiping her tear away.
When she was out of sight, I casually looked over at Harper and found her staring at me suspiciously. She didn’t seem concerned about Kate as she leaned forward with curiosity.
“What did you do?”
My lips curved into a triumphant smile, “Kate’s an event planner among other things and in the last twenty four hours, she’s been working extremely hard to organize an exclusive billionaire–level event for tomorrow. It was supposed to be a career–defining moment for her since she was promised so many connections and this time, nothing to do with Tiffany.”
“Oh, yeah, it’s always been because of your sister that she’s achieved so much.”
I nodded as I continued, “She just got the news that the venue burned to ashes because the flowers she brought in turned out to be flammable. The client is so pissed that he’s sworn to make sure she’s blacklisted from planning events in elite circles. She just got off the phone with him.”
“Wait, how do you know all this?”
“I sent someone to pose as a wealthy man and she fell for it. It was all part of the plan.”
She gasped so loudly that she covered her mouth for a few seconds.”
“Whoa! So….you danced with Kate, then decided to make her pay. How kind of you.”
“I didn’t even willingly dance with her. She forced me.”
She scoffed. “Of course she did.”
“She told me she loves me.”
She gasped. “Really?”
“You’re acting like you didn’t know about this.”
“I know she loves you. I just didn’t think she had the balls to tell you how she felt about you. She must’ve been holding it in for so long that she thought she’d explode. I guess sometimes, it’s better to get it off one’s chest.”
“Yes, it is.” My voice went quiet as I realized I was already on that path.
“So, what did you say after she told you that?”
“That she doesn’t stand a chance.”
She gasped again, like that was the meanest thing in the world. “How did she take it?”
I leaned forward to whisper. “Who gives a shit? I definitely don’t.”
There wasn’t even the smallest part of me that found any meaning in Kate confessing her feelings. I was too busy thinking about how I was going to tell Harper.
The suite was so spacious that there was enough breathing room, yet I already felt like I couldn’t breathe now that I had Harper all to myself.
When I saw her like that, ready to surrender to me, I thought to myself, just a bit longer before telling her how I felt.
She must have wanted me so badly because before I even dragged down the zipper, she turned to face me again, her hand moving up my chest as she lustfully looked into my eyes and that took over for me.
I smashed my lips on hers as I dragged down the zipper, trying not to rip her dress despite being impatient.
I dropped her on the bed when she had nothing on and I was ready to lower my kisses until I was between her legs to taste that pussy again, but I was in for a pleasant surprise when she stopped me by getting on her knees and unbuckling my belt.
When she took my hard cock into her mouth, I closed my eyes and grabbed a handful of her hair, my head thrown back as I thought about how that wasn’t the plan. I wanted to first tell her how I felt, then let her suck my cock before making her moan my name as much as I wanted to.
I usually felt like a king when she was on her knees pleasing me like that, but at that moment, I felt like a coward. Still, I let myself enjoy the moment as I began thrusting into her mouth while making sure she was okay with it.
When I pulled out of her wet pussy a fourth time, I took off the condom, threw it on the floor right where the others were, then fell beside her on the bed.
We both said nothing as we tried to catch our breaths, our bodies completely covered in sweat.
I had been thinking about having her like that again for so long that I should’ve been satisfied, but it constantly bothered me that I hadn’t yet told her how I felt about her. It was then that I realized it didn’t matter which position she’d be in when taking my hard cock. As long as I didn’t tell her, everything else would mean nothing and I wouldn’t be at peace.
After we both took a shower, we were in matching robes.
She stood in front of the mirror while towel drying her hair and I watched her from the bed. I didn’t feel the need to fill the silence with my voice as I was too busy wondering if that was the moment I was going to finally let her know.
“I danced with the Barclay Twins,” she said.
I playfully rolled my eyes. “I was there. I saw it all.”
She scoffed, glancing at me before focusing on the mirror again. “They couldn’t stop talking about Ella and Zoey. I never thought I’d see them get so jealous. Hearing them talk that way made me believe they have actual feelings for my friends. Isn’t it crazy how it started out as nothing but fun and now they like my friends?”
My eyes widened a little when I realized that the conversation about the twins was my chance because that way, I wouldn’t have to say it directly. I had tried it before but failed.
“Are you saying you never expected the twins to catch feelings?” I said smoothly.
“After everything you told me about them, that was the last thing I expected. Do you actually think they’ve fallen for my friends?”
“Yup and they’re not the only ones who feel that way,” I said, approaching her and standing right behind her.
She raised her eyebrows, meeting my gaze in the mirror.
“Really?” she asked. “Who else is-”
“Me.”
She chuckled dismissively. “But you told Kate that-”
“It’s not her.”
“Oh, then who is it?” Her head tilted like she had no idea.
Finally going for it, I said, “I’m looking at her right now.”
