Chapter 213
Iris’s POV
:
I looked up at Sebastien, and my stomach dropped. His face was ghostly pale, the sharp angles of his jaw and cheekbones looking even
more severe against his ashen skin. The blood loss from the silver bullet wound was making him look less like the invincible Alpha heir
and more like a mortal man who could actually die.
Around us, Daniel and the security team were running around like headless chickens–shouting into phones, barking orders at each other,
but doing absolutely nothing useful. Someone needed to take charge, and fast.
“Get me the first aid kit,” I snapped, pushing past two security wolves who were just standing there. When nobody moved quickly enough,
I grabbed the emergency kit myself from the back of one of the SUVS.
My hands were steadier than I expected as I ripped it open. I quickly found the anti–silver compound and bandages, thankful for the
werewolf–specific medical supplies. I could hear my own voice shaking slightly as I worked.
“Now, someone contact Moonshade Bay Central Hospital immediately. They have werewolf medical specialists on staff. The sooner we get
him there, the better.”
I pressed the bandage firmly against Sebastien’s wound, trying not to think about how warm his blood felt against my fingers or how rapidly it was soaking through the gauze. Daniel was already on his phone while I directed the others to help move Sebastien into one of
the waiting SUVs.
“Careful with his head,” I ordered as they lifted him. “And keep his torso as level as possible.”
One of the security wolves picked up the metal box that had fallen beside Sebastien when he collapsed. “What about this, Ms. Stone?” he
asked, holding my father’s safe.
“Put it in the trunk,” I said quickly. “And make sure it’s secure.” That box had nearly cost us our lives; I wasn’t about to lose it now.
I climbed in beside him in the backseat, continuing to apply pressure to his wound.
As the SUV sped away from the Stone estate, I found myself staring down at Sebastien’s face. I’d never seen him look so vulnerable before. The man who always seemed ten feet tall and bulletproof was now unconscious and bleeding out next to me.
A wave of guilt washed over me. If I hadn’t nearly passed out from the smoke, he wouldn’t have been so focused on protecting me. If I hadn’t insisted on retrieving my father’s metal box from the study, we wouldn’t have been there when the hunter attacked.
“This is all my fault,” I thought, then immediately pushed the idea away. No, we were targeted. The hunter came prepared with silver
bullets. They knew exactly what we were.
“How much longer?” I asked, looking up to meet Daniel’s eyes in the rearview mirror.

“Seven minutes,” he replied, his knuckles white on the steering wheel.
I nodded and returned my attention to Sebastien. The area around his wound was turning an angry sed as his body hope apella tur silver poisoning. His breathing was shallow but steady. I pressed down harder on the wound, willing the bleeding to stop.
