Jealousy Alpha’s Regret

Chapter 274

I stepped forward, resignation washing over me. “I’m Iris Stone.”

He looked relieved and thrust a digital tablet at me. “Please sign here.”

I took the stylus, scanning the delivery form for any clue about the sender. “Who sent these?”

The man shrugged. “I don’t know the person specifically. I just took the job because the delivery fee was high. But the order did come from the Grey estate area.”

My hand froze over the signature line. Grey estate. Sebastien.

The delivery guy seemed to sense my hesitation. “Is there a problem, ma’am?”

“No,” I muttered, scrawling my signature quickly.

I opened the small card attached to the arrangement. It contained just one letter: “S.

A humorless laugh escaped my lips. Real subtle, Sebastien. What was this, some high school attempt at winning me back? Send enough flowers and I’d just forget everything that happened between us?

I turned to the receptionists, who were watching me with undisguised curiosity. “All of this,” I gestured to the flowers, “take whatever you like and share it with the staff. Whatever’s left can be thrown out.”

Their eyes widened in surprise.

“You’re sure?” Tara asked, looking at the clearly expensive arrangements.

“Absolutely,” I said firmly. “I don’t want any of it.”

Back in my office, I checked my phone and found multiple messages from Sebastien:

[Made it to work yet? You should see some things I ordered for you when you get there.]

[Make sure you’re getting enough rest. Working too hard isn’t good for your/condition.]

[I’ll be stopping by later. We need to talk.]

My thumb hovered over the screen. Your condition. So that’s what this was about-the babies. Of course. It wasn’t about me at all.

I typed back a terse response: [?? Come here for what?]

His reply came almost instantly: [We have a collaboration. I’m coming to discuss business.}

Chapter 274

I stared at the screen, confusion and anger building. Collaboration? What collaboration? I’d explicitly rejected all projects with Crescent Design after our divorce,

1 ighmediately called for Jenny. “So Sebastien really activated the winter showcase clause?” I asked, unable to hide the anger in my

voice.

Jenny nodded, her expression grave. “Yes. He submitted formal notice to the board yesterday, invoking the five-year framework agreement your father signed.”

I drummed my fingers on the desk, feeling defeated. “I thought we had at least two more months to prepare an alternative. He

moved early.”

“Legal just confirmed the clause is binding,” Jenny added. “According to the agreement, once one party initiates, the other must

fulfill the collaboration obligations unless both boards unanimously agree to terminate.”

“And our board won’t agree to terminate,” I said with a bitter smile. “They only see the financial projections.”

Jenny hesitated, “Susan is already processing the paperwork. Sebastien’s team requested to discuss details today.”

I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts, “He beat me to the punch, using the very clause I’ve been trying to work around.

Classic Sebastien.”

I realized I couldn’t avoid seeing him now. If I canceled the meeting, it would look unprofessional and create more gossip. Better to face him on my terms, in a professional setting where he’d be forced to behave.

“When is he scheduled to arrive?” I asked.
