Chapter 275
Iris’s POV
I took a deep breath, my hands flat against the cool surface of the conference table as I met the expectant gazes around me. The room was filled with the subtle scents of anticipation and curiosity-a werewolf’s curse and blessing, being able to sell emotions.
“Regarding the collaboration,” I said, my voice steadier than I expected, “there’s been a mistake on our part. The collaboration will be canceled.”
The silence that followed was absolute. I could practically hear heartbeats quickening around the table. Eyes widened, bodies shifted
uncomfortably in chairs, and the scent of shock permeated the room like cheap perfume.
My gaze deliberately avoided Sebastien, though I was painfully aware of his presence at the opposite end of the table. But curiosity
got the better of me, and I glanced his way, expecting anger, perhaps even outrage.
Instead, he looked oddly calm. His silver-gray eyes locked with mine, and something in my stomach twisted uncomfortably.
“Why?” His voice was low, controlled-dangerous.
I forced my lips into a cold smile. “I simply don’t want to work with you anymore.
Before anyone could respond, I gathered my files. “This meeting is adjourned.”
As the stunned executives filed out, I silently congratulated myself. If you’re trying to use work as an excuse to get close to me, Sebastien, I’ll cut off that path right now.
I strode out of the conference room, clutching my folder against my chest like a shield. Through the reflection in the glass walls, I spotted Sebastien following me, his face unreadable but his purposeful stride unmistakable. Around us, employees pretended not to watch, but their curious glances and hushed whispers were impossible to miss.
My phone buzzed in my pocket. A quick glance showed notifications from the company chat group blowing up. Great. Office gossip traveled faster than a werewolf at full sprint.
Before I could reach the safety of my office, Sebastien caught up, his presence alone commanding attention.
“Come inside,” he said, not a request but a command.
I bristled at his tone but followed him into my office anyway. Better to have this confrontation in private than provide more entertainment for the rumor mill.
The moment the door closed, I whirled around. “What exactly do you think you’re doing? The flowers, this sudden collaboration what game are you playing?”
Sebastien stood just inside the doorway, hands casually in his pockets, looking infuriatingly composed. “It’s just business, Iris. A

simple collaboration. I haven’t done anything inappropriate.”
I could feel his eyes scanning my face, studying every reaction. The intensity of his gaze made my skin warm uncomfortably.
“Right,” I scoffed. “Nothing inappropriate about sending a forest’s worth of flowers to my workplace,”
“You used to love flowers,” he remarked quietly.
“I used to love a lot of things,” I shot back, the bitterness in my voice surprising even me.
His eyes narrowed slightly, but he maintained that frustrating composure. I turned away, suddenly feeling the walls closing in.
Having him in my office, in my space, felt like an invasion.
“If you don’t have anything important to say, you should leave. Some of us have actual work to do,” I said, pressing the intercom.
“Jenny, could you please escort Mr. Grey out?”
I didn’t miss the flash of anger that crossed Sebastien’s face before he mastered it. He stood there a moment longer, his gaze intense enough to burn, then turned and walked out without another word.
As the door closed behind him, I exhaled slowly, not realizing I’d been holding my breath. My hand trembled slightly as I pushed my
hair back from my face.
He thinks he can just waltz back into my life, I thought, staring at the door. That’s not how this works.
I moved to the floor-to-ceiling windows of my office and watched Sebastien cross the parking lot to his car. Even from this distance, his confidence was evident in every step. My werewolf eyesight caught the tension in his shoulders, though-the only sign that our confrontation had affected him at all.
