Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 401

Back at the Judson estate, Larissa carefully transplanted the herb she had picked up from around Bryant’s house into her herb garden.

It was a Phoenix Herb, a medicinal plant that thrived in lethally toxic conditions.

She’d discovered it when she took Sage and the others to that buffet. The area around the plant was so poisonous that no one dared approach it; a single breath of the surrounding fumes was enough to cause rapid poisoning, which gave her the perfect opportunity to sneak it away.

Because of its incredibly harsh growing requirements, the Phoenix Herb was exceptionally rare and priceless. She needed to find a way to cultivate more of them.

After settling the plant into the soil, Larissa scattered a fine, volatile poison powder around its base and released a host of venomous insects and ants, creating the toxic environment it needed to flourish. Only then did she return to her villa on the east side of the estate.

After a shower, Larissa checked her phone and saw a group chat invitation from Avril Palmer.

The group was named “Regal City Tattler” and had 101 members.

A message from Avril popped up: [Larissa, this group is full of all the heirs and socialites from Regal City’s most prominent families, big and small. It might be helpful for you as you take over the Judson family’s operations here.]

[Of course, the main reason is that I want you to rub your success in the faces of everyone who looks down on you!]

Larissa accepted. A notification appeared in the chat: “Avril’s Joy” has invited “Larissa” to the group.

The conversation was moving so quickly that no one noticed the new addition at first.

[I heard that when Finley Judson was running Starlight Media, he was planning to buy the rights to the bestselling author Field of Lari’s novel, “Heaven’s Will.” He wanted to turn it into a blockbuster to prove himself to his grandfather, Kiernan Judson. Now that Larissa’s in charge, who knows if she can even land the IP.]

[I heard that too. Field of Lari is holding a conference this weekend to sell the rights and has invited a bunch of entertainment companies.]

[Hah, she’s finished then. If Lucius Lincoln decides to acquire a rival studio to compete with Starlight Media, Larissa doesn’t stand a chance.]

Just then, someone took a screenshot of Avril’s invitation and posted it.

Instead, she logged into her author portal and contacted her editor, Lenora. The conference to sell the rights to her final novel, “Heaven’s Will,” was this weekend, after all.

The first step to strengthening the Judson family was to make Starlight Media the biggest entertainment company in the country.

Field of Lari: [Lenora, is everything set for the rights conference?]

Lenora replied almost instantly: [All set, don’t worry. The event is at Paddy’s Home, just like you wanted. Saturday at 11 a.m. All the invitations have been sent out, and every entertainment company we invited has confirmed they’ll be there. All you have to do is show up, reveal your identity, and pick the best offer.]

Field of Lari: [OK]

The next day, Larissa slipped into a chic, high-end suit her mother had prepared for her and headed to Starlight Media to officially take charge.
