Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 710

The soft touch of her lips sent a pleasant jolt through Haskell. He smiled. “Of course. I won’t disappoint you.”

Back at Starlight Media, Larissa immediately called Nightveil.

“What’s the situation with Vivica?” she asked, getting straight to the point.

“Just as you predicted, boss,” Nightveil reported. “She went back to Paxton and his family, but it seems she didn’t get the answers she was looking for. After that, she pretended to be disheartened and went back to her family home. She hasn’t left since.”

“Good,” Larissa said, her tone serious. “Keep a close watch on her. She cannot be harmed. Under no circumstances is she to die.”

“Understood, boss. My people are watching her 24/7 to ensure her safety.”

After handling her work at the office, Larissa left early and headed back to the Judson estate. Sapphira had just placed the finished cake on a serving cart.

“Larissa, you’re back!” she greeted her with a warm smile.

Larissa walked over to her. “Mom, did you get the item I told you about on the phone?”

“Oh, yes, I have it. Wait here, I’ll go get it for you.” Sapphira turned and went upstairs to her room with Larissa following close behind. A moment later, she returned with a small, brown paper-wrapped package and handed it to Larissa. “Here it is.”

“Thanks.” Larissa tucked the package into her purse. “Mom, I have one more errand to run. I’ll be back soon.”

The problem was, she didn’t have a ready-made antidote for this particular substance. At best, she could use acupuncture to suppress its effects, but it would still take a toll on the body. If all the guests ingested this, her birthday party would devolve into a mass orgy—an absolute disgrace.

She carefully wrapped the powder back up and drove to Neverending Night. Parking across the street, she plucked a leaf from a large tree, put it to her lips, and whistled a sharp, clear tune. Within moments, swarms of tiny insects gathered at her car window.

Larissa unfolded the paper, allowing the insects to crawl over the powder. Then, she whistled another tune, and the insects dispersed, flying off in different directions toward Lucius’s club.

Since the aphrodisiac came from the Lincoln family, they surely had the antidote. Let’s see how Lucius handles the situation when his own patrons fall victim to his little creation.

The last power outage had already damaged Neverending Night’s reputation. A second incident like this would destroy it completely.
