Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 736

The manager trembled, not daring to answer. Just then, his walkie-talkie crackled to life. “Sir, the unaffected guests are causing a scene! They’re demanding to leave!”

“Madam, these are our valued clients. We can’t just keep them locked in here…” the manager pleaded.

Helena’s face was grim. “Let them go. Given their status, they won’t want this incident getting out. It would cause too much trouble for them as well.”

The manager nodded and gave the order.

Helena then had him gather all the employees on duty that night. She looked them over, her voice like ice. “What happened in this club tonight, stays in this club. If I hear that anyone has breathed a word of this to the outside world, I will personally cut out their tongue. Is that understood?”

Once the staff had been dismissed, she went to Lucius’s suite. He was slumped on the sofa, utterly spent.

“Explain,” she demanded, sitting down opposite him. “How did such a massive failure occur?”

“I don’t know…” Lucius mumbled, his limbs heavy.

“You don’t know? You are the heir to the Lincoln family. How can you not know?” she said, incredulous.

Lucius remained silent.

“Grandma, I will take care of it from here,” Lucius said, his face obscured by the smoke. “It’s late. You should go home.”

Seeing his weakened state, Helena relented. “The scandal with your uncle has already damaged our family’s reputation. If this incident gets out, the blow will be even greater. I have warned the staff, but you must also monitor the internet. The moment any rumors appear, you crush them.”

After she left, Lucius took another drag from his cigar and called the manager. “Bring me a list of all the guests who were drugged tonight.”

Then, he turned to his assistant. “Aidric, bring Honora to me.”
