Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 813

Lucius’s face grew darker. He glared at her, his voice a low growl. “Larissa, don’t think for a second that I wouldn’t kill you just because we’re in a police car.”

His threat didn’t faze her in the slightest. She smiled, her expression turning to one of mock pity. “But you can’t kill me, even when we’re not in a police car. It’s a shame, really. The Lincoln family is not in a good place right now. It looks like you’re on the verge of total collapse.”

Lucius’s anger finally boiled over. He stared at her, his eyes wide with rage, and roared, “Larissa!”

His voice echoed through the small car, filled with fury and desperation.

From the front passenger seat, an officer spoke up. “That’s enough! Ms. Judson, please refrain from provoking the suspect.”

“Of course, Officer,” Larissa replied, her tone instantly becoming meek and obedient, a stark contrast to the taunting woman from moments before.

She remained quiet for the rest of the ride, pulling out her phone to message Haskell.

[Haskell, guess what I’m doing.]

He didn’t reply right away. He was probably busy dealing with the Solomon situation. It wasn’t until they arrived at the police station that a reply came through.

[At the station?]

Larissa was stunned.

[How did you know?]

[Because I can see you.]

Larissa looked up and, sure enough, there was Haskell sitting in his wheelchair at the entrance to the station. Crispin was pushing him slowly in her direction.

She put her phone away. “What are you doing here? Is it because of Solomon?”

“Yes, I just had to answer a few questions. It’s all taken care of,” Haskell said, his gaze drifting to Lucius, who was watching them from a distance. “What’s going on with you? Why are you here with Lucius?”

Larissa walked into the station, where officers were already beginning to review the surveillance footage from the Judson estate. Inside an interrogation room, an officer informed Lucius of their findings.

“The footage only shows that Fergus was indeed brought back to the Judson estate by Larissa, and that he was sent away early this morning,” the officer stated flatly.

Lucius’s brow furrowed, clearly displeased with the result.

“Impossible,” he said, his voice cold. “Larissa would never let Fergus go.”

His tone was thick with disbelief.

The officer looked at him without expression. “The evidence Larissa provided is conclusive, including footage of her helping Fergus into her car. As for whether you caused his injuries, we’ve already sent officers to retrieve the surveillance footage from the Lincoln estate from four days ago.”

It wasn’t long before the Lincoln family’s footage arrived. The police carefully reviewed it and then informed Larissa of the results. “According to the surveillance footage, Fergus had no visible injuries when he left the Lincoln estate. Therefore, we cannot definitively prove that he was assaulted by Lucius.”
