Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 914

Zendar didn't really expect her to say yes. He knew how busy she was in Regal City.

To his surprise, Larissa replied, "Of course. I'm already on my way back to the village."

"What?! You're on your way?" Zendar's voice was filled with disbelief. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?"

Larissa laughed. "I wanted it to be a surprise. Are you surprised?"

"That's one word for it," Zendar admitted. "Alright, drive safe. The villagers and I will have dinner ready for you when you get here!"

After another half an hour on the road, Larissa finally arrived at Spire Village.

Kiernan and Finley, having heard the news, were already waiting for her at the village entrance. Their faces lit up with smiles when they saw her car approach.

"Larissa," Kiernan said, beaming. "When Zendar told me you were coming back, I was so happy I came straight here to wait for you."

Larissa opened the car door and let them in. "Grandpa, does that mean you've been waiting here for half an hour?"

"Of course! I wanted to be the first to see you," Kiernan chuckled.

Finley sat quietly beside 001, Larissa's bodyguard. He wasn't sure what to say, so he just listened.

"Did you come back just to spend the New Year with this old man?" Kiernan asked.

Larissa couldn't very well tell him she was there to foil Jedidiah's plot right here, so she just smiled. "Of course! I came back especially for you, and for all our villagers!"

Her words made Kiernan's smile widen.

When they reached Larissa's rustic cottage in the village, she parked the car and helped Kiernan inside. 001 followed them in. Finley hesitated at the doorway, unsure if he should enter.

Zendar arrived and cleared a path for her. "Hey, Larissa is a busy woman in Regal City. She doesn't have all the time in the world. Let's give her some space and let her eat."

"Right, right! Larissa needs to eat. She's been traveling all day!"

The villagers dispersed, then Zendar and Kimberly brought over dishes they had prepared. "Larissa, all your favorite farmhouse meals."

Finley stood up awkwardly. "Larissa, Grandpa, you guys eat. I should get going."

"Finley, stay and eat with us," Larissa said. "I have some questions for you later."

Finley was ecstatic once again. A smile he couldn't suppress spread across his face as he sat back down on the wooden stool.

After the meal, Larissa got straight to the point. "Grandpa, Zendar, Kimberly, something big is going to happen in the village on New Year's Eve."
