Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 931

Fortunately, when she came out of the bathroom, Haskell didn't try to continue their earlier conversation. He just went to take his own shower, leaving Larissa to lounge on the bed and catch up on the messages she hadn't had time to read during the day.

Most people seemed to know she was on her honey-week and figured she wouldn't have much time to chat, so her inbox was quiet. The only messages were from Avril and her mother, Sapphira.

Larissa opened Avril's first. After all, Avril had been a huge help in planning their honey-week itinerary.

Avril: [Larissa, how's the guide I sent? Has the romance with Haskell gone supernova yet?]

Larissa replied: [The guide is perfect, no missteps at all! As for the romance… any hotter and we'd melt.]

Next, she opened her mother's.

Sapphira: [How's the weather in Cloudville? Not too cold, I hope? Are you and Haskell having a good time?]

Three simple questions, each one brimming with concern.

It was getting late, and figuring her parents were likely asleep, Larissa decided against a video call and just texted back: [Mom, the weather here is beautiful, not cold like Regal City at all. Haskell and I had a great day today, we ate so much delicious food. I'll probably come back a few pounds heavier!]

To her surprise, her mother replied almost instantly.

[As long as you're having fun, that's all that matters. Gain ten pounds for all I care! A little extra weight is healthy!]

Seeing this, Larissa immediately initiated a video call. Sapphira answered on the first ring.

"Mom, you and Dad are still up?"

The screen showed her mother's face, free of makeup. Though there were fine lines around her eyes, her skin was still well-cared-for, and she had an air of gentle elegance. Her father, Neville, was peeking over her shoulder from behind.

But the most popular topic was a video of Haskell singing at the pub called 'I’d Do Anything for Love.'

[So, I guess Haskell's only flaw is being tone-deaf.]

[He might not have any technique, but you can tell he's singing with his whole heart!]

[Seriously, who needs a motorcycle when you have a Ferrari! If I had Haskell's looks, I wouldn't care if I was broke, let alone tone-deaf!]

[How many days are Larissa and Haskell staying in Cloudville? I want to have a chance encounter with them too!]

[I heard she's staying at a B&B near the coast, a prime location. But all the hotels in that area are fully booked. They must have bought out all the rooms!]
