Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 168

“Don’t feel too bad. There are plenty of other women out there.”

“I’m not heartbroken. Just annoyed that I misjudged her so badly and almost ended up stabbing you in the back. My dad specifically told me to look out for you. Anyway, if anyone from the Judson family gives you trouble, you let me know. I won’t stand for it.”

“You got it. But you know me, who in this world can actually bully me?”

“True. If anyone was foolish enough to try, and my dad found out, they’d have all of Regal City coming after them. I’ll see you at Paddy’s Home.”

“See you there.”

Larissa hung up, a smile playing on her lips. It seemed that the more Honora, the celebrated talent of Regal City, tried to climb the social ladder, the more she was destined to fall. Solon’s family, the Schwartzes, might not be on the same level as the Palmers, but they were still a major powerhouse. A marriage alliance with them would have been a significant step up for the Judsons.

If you were to rank the powerful families of Regal City into tiers, the century-old Palmer family, the research-focused Schwartz family with its government partnerships, the tech-mogul Dillon family, and the Lincoln family her aunt Josette Judson had married into would all be first-tier.

The Judsons, Vivica’s family the Caldwells, and her new mother’s family the Turners were second-tier.

The third tier was made up of newer families who had risen on recent market trends but hadn’t yet solidified their power.

And now, after giving up Haskell, the heir to the most powerful family of all, Honora was about to lose a hidden tycoon like Solon. Her opportunities to climb any higher were rapidly dwindling.

The mention of Larissa made Honora’s smile falter. During their entire engagement, she had never once managed to get Haskell to go out with her alone. He was always busy with work or family. And now, he’d known Larissa for a few weeks and they were already going on dates?

“How are your legs, Haskell?” she asked, changing the subject.

He rested a hand on his thigh. “They’re recovering well. Larissa has been treating them. She says I should be able to walk again in three months.”

Honora stared at him, stunned. “…Larissa said she can cure your legs?”

Haskell nodded, a hint of mockery in his dark eyes. “Yes. What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy for me?”
