Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 207

Larissa was always sensitive to so-called coincidences and accidents. Growing up in an environment where she always had to be on guard, she knew that failing to sense danger could be fatal.

“There’s something I want to say,” she began, hesitating. The truth might be too cruel for him.

“I know what you’re going to say,” Haskell replied with a wry smile.

It figured. Haskell was intelligent. Ever since he’d noticed something was off with Draven and Valeria, he must have been re-examining everything and connecting the dots.

A cool shadow fell over Haskell’s eyes. “After I went back and reviewed the events surrounding Draven being sent away, I also began to suspect that my mother’s death was no accident. But, as you said, it’s been too long. Finding proof is next to impossible.”

“I understand,” Larissa said. “For now, the investigation has to focus on Draven. As long as he and Thatch still covet the Palmer family fortune and want you dead, they’re bound to slip up again.”

“I agree.”

The commotion outside the door grew louder.

“Haskell, what are you doing in there? Get out here now!”

Crispin’s professional tone remained unchanged. “Mr. Palmer, Ms. Judson is currently treating the young master’s legs. Please do not disturb them.”

“Treatment? You’re telling me that Judson girl is treating my son? Is she even qualified? I’ve had the best doctors in the world look at Haskell to no avail. What makes you think she can do anything? In that case, I really must see this for myself.”

“Mr. Palmer,” Crispin repeated, “please wait until the young master’s treatment is finished.”

“Get out of my way, Crispin,” Thatch snarled, his footsteps approaching the door. “Do you know who I am? How dare you stop me? Let me in.”

Suddenly—

“Ah! Let go of me! You dare touch me? Do you have a death wish? Crispin, you’re my son’s assistant! Are you just going to stand there and watch these bodyguards assault me?”

Thanks to Larissa, he might one day be able to call this beautiful woman “Mom.”

After placing the final needle, Larissa stretched. “All done.”

Haskell flexed his legs. After several days of treatment, the constant pain was beginning to subside, replaced by a faint, tingling sensation.

“I’ll go deal with my family matter so my father doesn't interrupt your dinner,” he said.

“Good. Tell him to calm down. He’s quite annoying,” Larissa replied, rolling her neck and shoulders.

After Haskell had left the room, Sapphira sat down on the edge of the bed and opened the food container.

“You must be exhausted,” she said, her voice full of concern. “Eat something and get your strength back. You haven’t had a moment’s peace, between Paxton and Vivica causing trouble and having to treat Haskell’s legs.”
