:.
“You didn’t have to come, you know?” I said to Sebastian for the third time.

He gives me a hard look. “You and Jace are out here of course I was coming with you.”
“Oh, drop the serial killer stare, it’s not fooling anyone you know,” I snap looking through another pile of shirts and holding one up to Jace.
This boy is growing like a weed.
Jace looks just as unimpressed as his father, just with more of that special brand of childlike petulance.
I swear he’s seven going on seventeen.
“We’ve been to twelve stores already,” Sebastian complains. “When you said you were going shopping, I didn’t realize you intended to buy him an outfit for every day of the year.”
“If you’re going to complain, go sit over there with Kade.”
I point to a cluster of chairs at the front of the store, dubbed the “husband section.”
SebStioan give me a look that 1 take to mean, you’ve-got-to-be-out-of-your+mind. “No thanks.”
“Bash, you can see us just fine from over there. We are okay.”
“I’m sure you are, but you’re safer if you’re in arms reach.
I roll my lips together but don’t say anything. I know the kind of stress he’s under right now.
It’s the same kind of street that has had an influx of pack mates seeking me out for someone to speak to.
The thought of being thrusted back into strife, of being back into a possible war, has everyone on edge.
It doesn’t help that there is a psycho around killing people.
If it wasn’t for the fact that there were things we needed I wouldn’t have left pack lands but winter is coming and we can’t receive
deliveries inside the pack.
Jace tries to go with his uncle.

“Not you,” 1 warn.
“But, Mom…..” He whines, “My feet hurt.”
“Aww, poor baby.” I coo. “You’ll live.”
Jace gives his father a look and shrugs as if to say, I tried.
And what a pathetic attempt it was.
Jace can easily play for hours so there is no way he is feeling tired right now.
Sebastian pats his shoulder and I glare at the both of them.
The nerve to try and play me..
After getting a few more things, I finally decided to take pity on them. I declare that I’m done and am met with three collective sighs of
relief.
“I’m not that bad!” I gripe. “Come one I guess you guys have earned some lunch.”
Sebastian takes bags from me and I give him a grateful rib on his chest.
“Finally, I think my stomach has started to eat itself,” Kade whines.
I jab him with my elbow. “You’re just as bad as Sebastian.”
I lead them to the food court and we grab a seat there so they can dig in..
“Can I have ice cream after?” Jace asks, taking a bite of his double cheeseburger.
“Sure. I could go for a cone,” I say excited by the thought of a sweet, creamy treat.
Sebastian leans into my ear. “I’ve got a cone you can lick.”
A shot of lust coils between my legs.
“Behave, we’re in public.”
“I don’t mind an audience,” he says.
I turn and nip the bottom of his lip in warning but it has the opposite effect and Sebastian growls low, wanting.

“Hello, you’re not exactly alone here,” Kade says with his nose scrunched in disgust.
“Yeah. No kissing where people can see,” Jace seconds.
“How do you think you got here,” Sebastian teases.
“Eww,” Jace said with the enthusiasm of a kid who still thinks all girls are gross.
Goddess help me when that changes during his juvenile years.
“Alright, let’s finish up.” I tell the boys.
