Chapter 229
My wolf snarls, her maternal instincts overriding her submissive nature.
Before I can shift he kicks out and my head snaps to the side hitting the concrete floor.
“Mom!” Jace screams.
A roar comes from somewhere behind.
Sebastian.
His rage lights up the bond like a spark on a line of gasoline.
“Hurry up,” the man in the front seat shouts.
My wolf surges to the forefront, protecting my pup the only thing on my mind.
“Jace run!” I order knowing that the further he is away from them the better.
I shift out my claws and attack, slashing at his chest.
“Fucking bitch,” the male hisses.
I’m no match for the dominant male, but I’m not looking to win. All I need is to be distracting enough for Jace to get away.
He back hands me so hard my head spins like I’m fighting off an episode of vertigo.
Then hands are one and I’m taking into the dark cab of the car.
The door slams at the same moment a heavy impact rocks the van.
I know it’s Sebastian’s wolf slamming his body into the Van trying to knock it over.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” the driver yells.
The tires scream as the driver floors the gas pedal backing up quickly before jerking forward.
My body rolls, slamming from one wall into the other as the car twists and turns down the winding path that leads to the outside.
The big bastard who took me puts a heavy boot on top of me to hold me down. He presses down so hard I cry out.
Despite the pain, I thank the Goddess that they have me and not Jace.

Chapter 229
:
Taking off his balaclava he runs a hand through his sweaty, greasy hair.
His face looks like that of a toad, bloated cheeks, large round eyes, unfortunate features really.
I struggle against him even though my head feels like a tilt-a-whirl.
“Hold still or I’ll hurt you,” he cautions.
Something hot and wet is dampening the back of my head.
As much as pride hates it. I have to play this smart so I stop moving.
He roughly secures my hands behind my back with what feels like zipline but could just be plastic like rope.
Confident I’m secure he looms over me, his foot still squarely on my back.
Breathe, my wolf reminds me. Don’t allow our mate to worry unnecessarily.
She’s right. I don’t want to risk Sebastian getting hurt because he rushes in here to save me.
I just have to clear my head enough to use my ability.
“Not so tough now are you,” he taunts, putting his weight down harder.
“Coming from the guy who picks a fight with a woman less than half his size, it is not that impressive.”
For a moment I think he is going to hit me again but he simply stares at me.
No he leers at me.
Eyes taking on that smarmy edge that sick males get when they are finally in a position of power over someone.
He inhales deeply, and that look gets even slimier.
“You might want to watch your mouth, little submissive,” he sneers.
The way he says submissive is alone to the way one might address someone they feel is beneath them.
My opinion of him plummets so low, archeologists will have trouble finding it 500 years from now.
“Why? Am I speaking too fast for you?”
He snatches the corner of my hair and yanks it up the rank order of his breath singing my nostril hairs.

“We’ve got company,” the driver shouts.
:
The toad lets go of my hair and clomps to the small window in the back.

“Fuck. I thought they’d take more time bringing the runt back to the pack,” he says. “Gun it, Vin.”
I look outside the window and see the recognizable black Tahoe swerving through cars at a speed that has to be breaking at least five
