A few moments later, the corridor widened.

Ahead stood a pair of towering double doors carved from pale stone and silverwood, their surfaces. etched with ancient symbols that shimmered faintly beneath the evening light.

Waiting before them stood Lyressa and the Seers.

Lyressa’s gown gleamed like liquid pearl, soft and luminous beneath the lantern glow, while the Seers stood behind her in ceremonial black robes that pooled around their feet like shadows against moonlight.

Lyressa smiled the moment she saw Kaelani approach.

She stepped forward immediately.

“You look beautiful,” she said warmly.

The Seers bowed their heads deeply in Kaelani’s presence.

“You look every bit a queen,” one said.

Kaelani felt heat rise faintly to her cheeks.

Lyressa’s expression softened as she looked between Kaelani and the doors behind her.

“This is a special night for us,” she said quietly.

Silence settled briefly.

Kaelani gave a small, almost sheepish smile.

“Oh… it was nothing, really,” she said softly.

Lyressa’s brows lifted at once.

“Do not diminish what you did,” she replied gently but firmly. “It was not nothing.”

Her expression warmed further, emotion shining openly in her eyes.

“It was quite literally everything to us.”

The Seers inclined their heads in agreement, their presence solemn and reverent behind her.

Lyressa reached for Kaelani’s hands briefly.

“I hope you like what we have done for you,” she added with a smile

She gave a small nod to the Seers.

At once, they stepped forward and pressed their hands against the carved doors.

The massive double doors swung open slowly.

Beyond them stretched a grand balcony that overlooked an immense gathering below.

Hundreds of Seelie citizens filled the courtyard beneath, lanterns glowing in soft gold and ivory, banners of pale silk draped between crystalline pillars. Music drifted upward in glimmering notes.

The moment Kaelani stepped forward, flanked by Lyressa at one side and Julian at the other, the crowd erupted.

Cheers thundered through the night.

Applause rose like a wave.

Voices called her name.

The Seers followed behind them as they stepped fully onto the balcony, the celebration swelling louder with every heartbeat.

Lyressa lifted one elegant hand.

The courtyard fell silent at once.

The music softened. The murmuring ceased. Hundreds of golden–lit faces turned upward in perfect stillness.

Lyressa stepped forward to the edge of the balcony, her pearl gown catching the light like moonlight on

water.

“My people,” she began, her voice carrying effortlessly across the vast courtyard below. “Tonight, we gather not merely for celebration… but for remembrance.”

She turned slightly, gesturing toward Kaelani.

“For far too long, this realm stood on the brink of permanent darkness. Our magic was bound. Our skies dimmed. And hope itself felt like a memory.”

A quiet weight settled over the crowd.

“We were imprisoned within our own home.”
