Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 1031

Ivy was easygoing and warm by nature.

The moment Stella left Evan, Ivy whisked her away.

“Try this. It’s good.”

She had made several dishes herself specifically to welcome Stella.

The last time Stella had been in Seaborne, Ivy had been sick, so they had never met.

Now that they finally had, Ivy liked her immediately.

“Good, right?” Ivy asked eagerly. “I told you I can cook. Amos always says everything I make tastes terrible and tells me to stop wasting ingredients.”

She sounded genuinely aggrieved.

Ivy loved cooking and had always been confident in her skills.

But according to Amos, nothing she made was edible.

After hearing that often enough, even she had started to lose confidence.

Stella smiled.

“Maybe he only says that because he doesn’t want you working so hard.”

Ivy blinked.

“Really?”

Then she shook her head.

“No. He doesn’t think that deeply. He just doesn’t like my cooking.”

As far as Ivy was concerned, Amos was not a complicated man.

Compared with Aaron, he was practically simple.

How many times had his friends taken advantage of him over the years?

He was not nearly calculating enough to come up with an excuse like that.

“You and Evan are still fighting?” Ivy asked. “He seems very worried about you.”

There was no need to explain how anxious Evan had been lately.

While Stella was hidden in Sevi Valley, he had worried constantly about her safety and whether she could adapt to the harsh conditions there.

It had been obvious that Stella was all he could think about.

That was why Ivy could not understand how the two of them had reached this point.

“Your cooking is good,” Stella said. “But if you’re about to defend Evan, you should probably stop there.”

Ivy stared at her.

“What?”

Stella looked at her.

“What do you mean?”

“I’ve basically been alone all these years. When Remi is here, at least I have someone to talk to. But when she’s gone, there’s no one.”

Remi had been with Stella constantly lately.

Ivy had been starved for conversation.

Amos stayed with her whenever he could, but he was still a man with responsibilities and was often called away.

“Are there really that few women here?” Stella asked.

Ivy nodded.

“Very few. Amos rarely lets me go out, so I don’t know anyone outside either.”

And within Amos’s organization, there were hardly any women at all.

Stella fell silent.

She understood why Amos rarely allowed Ivy to leave.

Aaron’s hatred for Amos over the years had always centered on her.

If Ivy wandered around outside too freely, Aaron might eventually have her taken.
