“Still, I can understand why he went that far,” Amos said.
A man like Aaron would never let his feelings become a chain around his neck.
Whatever he felt for Yara, it wouldn’t make him spare the Wright family.
After all, they were responsible for his mother’s death.
And Stella had only just died too.
With old hatred and fresh grief piled together, even if Aaron loved Yara more than anything, there was no way he would let the Wright family off.
“Then I guess there’s absolutely no chance for him and Yara anymore, right?”
Ivy had never particularly liked Yara.
But right now, she couldn’t help feeling a little sorry for her.
Getting tangled up with a madman like Aaron could mean a lifetime of darkness.
Amos shook his head.
“Whether there’s a chance between them isn’t exactly up to Yara.”
They had known for years just how domineering Aaron could be.
Back when Amos had tried to get Ivy away from him, Amos had nearly paid for it with his life.
Thankfully, they had managed to escape in the end.
Ivy narrowed her eyes at him.
“You’re not thinking about going back to help Evan now, are you? I’m warning you, if you get anywhere near Aaron right now, you’re walking straight into your own grave.”
That was simply the truth.
Aaron had already gone this far.
Anyone who got in his way now was practically asking to die.
“Not a chance,” Amos answered immediately.
Even when Aaron was relatively sane, getting involved with him had cost Amos dearly.
Going anywhere near him now that he had completely lost it?
That would just be volunteering to die.
The problem was Evan.
He was already gathering men in Seaborne and quietly making arrangements to head to Mieda.
Ivy nodded.
“Good. As long as you know better.”
She had genuinely been worried Amos might suddenly decide loyalty mattered more than common sense and charge straight into this mess.
Aaron was not someone you casually went up against.
Amos frowned.
