Chapter 231

“Steven, how can you treat me like this?”

Evan’s eyes narrowed.

Faced with his coldness, Summer lowered her gaze. “My child… my baby.”

Her voice was full of grief.

Dora looked at Evan too. “When will they find the baby? When will they bring her back?”

“My poor baby…”

She started crying again.

Dora’s demands.

Summer’s sobbing.

They crashed around Evan like constant thunder, pounding at his temples. His breathing grew heavier and heavier.

The baby…

“And if they don’t find her, I won’t go on either. I swear I won’t.”

That line made Evan’s face go even colder.

This time, Dora took the same stance. “Fine. Then none of us will go on. I’ll die with you.

Summer was acting.

But Dora meant it. If the child wasn’t found, she truly did not want to live either.

She felt she had failed her dead son.

And after everything that had happened lately, she was exhausted to the bone.

Evan’s face darkened further. “Enough.”

He had truly had enough.

Either Stella was turning everything upside down, setting fires and causing chaos.

Or Summer was threatening death every other minute.

Now Dora had joined in too.

And on top of that, Wright Group was getting hit with one problem after another.

He felt like his whole world had been dragged into complete disorder.

He had no energy left to comfort any of them.

He turned and walked out of the room.

Dora and Suntimer both grew even more upset at his attitude.

“Where are you going now?”

The hospital was already a disaster, and he was still thinking about Stella?

At that moment, Dora hated Stella more than ever. She wanted nothing more than to tear her apart.

In Dora’s eyes, everything had turned out this way because of Stella.

Evan replied coldly, “To find the baby. Or should I just sit here and wait for her to walk back on her own?”

Summer froze.

The moment Dora heard that, she flared up again. “Find what baby? Stella definitely took her.”

“Tell her to give the baby back!”

The only response she got was the sound of his footsteps fading away.

Dora’s breathing turned sharp with anger. “I barely got two words out before he…”

“Mom…”

Summer looked up at Dora through tear-filled eyes.

Hearing her call out like that, Dora looked down at her face streaked with tears.

The memory of Summer calling Evan Steven again still bothered her.

But considering she had just lost her child, Dora held back and said nothing.

Instead, she comforted her. “Don’t worry. The baby will be found soon. She wouldn’t dare do anything to that child.”

Summer threw herself into Dora’s arms.

“If my baby doesn’t come back alive, I really will die, Mom.”

“I know, I know. Don’t worry. The baby will come back. She will.”

Dora held her and comforted her with genuine pain in her voice.

But the moment Summer, hidden in Dora’s arms, exchanged a look with Mrs. Mendes behind her, a flash of triumph passed through both their eyes.

In the underground garage, Evan sat in the car, smoking one cigarette after another.

Patrick could feel the cold radiating off him.

Carefully, he said, “Sir, the situation at the company isn’t looking good.”

“Hogarth Group again?”
