Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 236

Chapter 236

Just like Stella had said, Bara really had been half-asleep.

The past few days had drained her completely.

First it was Summer’s delivery. She had been running around nonstop, handling everything herself. Then Stella stirred up one crisis after another. Dora hadn’t had a full night’s sleep in days.

Tonight, she had finally passed out from exhaustion.

And then the police station called.

Now, jolted awake and snapped at by Stella, she was fully alert again. Her temper flared instantly as she bit out into the phone, “Forget it. I don’t need you to go!”

She hung up and scrambled out of bed.

Her chest burned with frustration.

She’still had no idea how Evan had ended up in a place like that. And now she had to go bail him out herself?

But in her mind, no matter what had happened, it had to be connected to Stella.

Thinking of her, Dora couldn’t help but curse under her breath. “Stella is nothing but bad luck.”

It was infuriating.

How much longer was this chaos going to last?

After rushing to the station and getting Evan out, Dora kept pressing him for answers.

But once they were in the car, Evan didn’t say a word.

That only made her angrier.

“For something like this, couldn’t Patrick handle it? He could’ve just called a lawyer!”

Why drag her into it?

Unless… it was something serious?

The thought made her glance at Evan again.

But he was staring out the window, lost in thought.

No matter how many questions she threw at him, he didn’t respond.

Not a single word.

After dropping her off at the family estate, he immediately prepared to head back to Mount Lara.

Dora called after him, “This situation with the baby can’t be handled like the media scandal before!”

Her tone was sharp with warning.

What happened with the media had already been disappointing enough. If they handled the baby the same

way…

Would the child even make it back alive?

Seeing that he still didn’t respond, she added, “There are times when you just can’t indulge a woman like that.”

In her eyes, Stella had become this reckless precisely because Evan had spoiled her too much.

If he hadn’t indulged her, would she dare act like this?

No. She wouldn’t.

It was obvious Dora had already decided Stella was the one who took the baby.

Evan had no interest in continuing the conversation. He simply turned to Patrick. “Drive.”

“If anything happens fo that child, I will make her pay with her life!”

Dora’s final words were filled with cold, vicious intent. All the resentment she had built up toward Stella spilled out at once.

Evan didn’t respond.

He just had Patrick drive off.

Watching the car disappear, Dora stood there, her hands clenched into fists.

To her, his silence meant one thing.

He was still protecting Stella.

Her phone suddenly vibrated.

She glanced at the screen. It was Fiona.

“Mom.”

“Mom, something’s wrong. Summer’s having another episode. She keeps calling my brother’s name and asking for the baby!”

Dora: “…”

Her head throbbed instantly.

Before, Summer had already exhausted them because of Steven.

Now there was the baby too.
