Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 237

Chapter 237

Dora’s words were sharp, each one delivered with force.

But in that moment, Evan’s mind wasn’t on her anymore.

One phrase kept echoing-

“She’s been having episodes more and more often.”

And layered over it, another voice from the night before- something Felix had said to him:

“Summer’s depression… something about it isn’t right.”

Frequent episodes.

Something’s wrong with her depression.

The two thoughts tangled together in his head, growing louder.

Dora, already rushing back to the hospital, didn’t stay on the call long. She gave a few hurried instructions and hung up.

The car pulled into the parking area outside Mount Lara.

Evan closed his eyes.

He didn’t get out right away. Instead, he lit a cigarette.

After everything that had happened tonight, dawn was already starting to break.

Patrick glanced at him from the driver’s seat.

Evan spoke without opening his eyes. “Still no news about the baby?”

“None,” Patrick replied, shaking his head.

Evan took another drag and looked out at the gray morning sky, his gaze settling on the flame tree in the yard.

Stella had always liked those trees.

She once said the blossoms were beautiful in the fall.

She also liked silk trees. Said she loved the clean, soft scent of their flowers.

After that, wherever she might stay, he had made sure to plant both.

Now it was late autumn.

The flame tree’s blossoms had long since dried into husks, but the leaves were still green.

Hearing there was still no news, something in Evan’s eyes darkened.

Then, unexpectedly, he asked, “What do you think about Summer’s depression?”
