Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 238

Chapter 238

Upstairs, Stella was still sleep.

At dawn, she got two calls back to back.

The first was from Gray.

He had found the baby, and he filled her in on the situation.

“That child isn’t healthy,” he said over the phone. “Her condition may actually be more complicated than the other baby’s.”

“Summer had someone take her to that villa, and she even arranged for a doctor to be there.”

Stella’s eyes narrowed. “No one ever said there was anything wrong with that baby before.”

Gray replied, “Then this was probably all part of the setup.”

The word ‘setup’ turned Stella’s expression cold instantly.

If that was true, then Summer’s scheming ran deeper than she had thought.

The whole Wright family had been revolving around the baby boy these past few days. No one would have guessed the girl had serious problems too.

Before Stella could say anything, Gray continued, “We don’t know what Summer’s original plan was, but if I had to guess, she’ll probably call you soon. She’ll ‘compromise,’ hand the baby over to you, and use that to push you into divorcing Mr. Wright.”

Stella’s voice dropped. “The baby’s already in trouble?”

“Yes. Around three in the morning, that villa was lit up inside, and medical vehicles were going in and out.”

He didn’t know exactly what had happened.

But whether Summer called Stella now would tell them how serious it was.

Because if something happened to that baby while she was in Stella’s hands, then Stella would never be able

to clear her name.

Even with a hundred mouths, she wouldn’t be able to explain it.

“Got it.”

She had barely hung up with Gray when Summer called.

It was an unfamiliar number, but given the timing, Stella knew exactly who it was.

The second she answered, Summer’s voice came through.

“I’ll give you the baby. Just divorce Evan.”

A mocking smile curved Stella’s lips.

What kind of woman was this?

Scheming against her all these years was one thing.

But now she was even using her own child as a pawn.

The level of selfishness and viciousness was disgusting.

Summer rushed on, “Send someone to pick her up. The address is-”

“No.”

Summer stopped cold.

That single word clearly threw her off. “What?”

“I said no.” Stella’s smile deepened. “Didn’t you hear me?”

“Aren’t you trying to divorce Evan? Once the baby is in your hands, he’ll definitely agree. You know how much he cares about his brother’s child.”

Stella said evenly, “I don’t know how to take care of a baby. She’s too young. What if something happens to her while she’s with me?”

“You won’t need to take care of her. I’ll have someone feed her. You just need to make sure the divorce happens this morning.”

The moment Stella refused, panic crept into Summer’s voice.

And from that panic alone, Stella could tell.

Something had probably already gone wrong with the baby.

At that moment, Stella felt genuinely grateful that she now had her brother behind her.

He had gotten the information to her first.

Otherwise, before she fully cut ties with Evan, there was no telling how badly Summer would have trapped

her.

And Summer had clearly figured it out.

Stella wanted the divorce too much now. She wanted to get as far away from Evan as possible.

And Summer had tried to use even that against her.

That alone showed who really wanted her dead.

And now she had the nerve to say Stella had been pushing her too far?

Please.

Stella’s voice turned ice-cold.

“Yes, I want a divorce from Evan. But using a child the way you do, treating your own kid like a tool? I’m not low enough for that.”
