Chapter 252
When it came to the baby, Summer would never have dated call the police. The only thing she would have done was cry in front of Evan and Dora.
No, maybe she would have dared.
It was just that right now, all she could think about was how to use the baby to crush Stella in front of Evan and Dora. Calling the police had probably never even crossed her mind.
And now, Stella had done it for her.
Stella said a few more words to the police before ending the call.
Dora was breathing hard. “You called the police? What right do you have to call the police? You’re the one who took the baby, and you’re the one who got her killed.”
Stella said flatly, “Maybe I don’t have the right, but what was I supposed to do? All of you forgot to call, so I did it for you. And this is the thanks I get.”
The words this is the thanks I get nearly made Dora cough up blood.
Who wanted her fake kindness?
She did not want it. She did not care about it. Her poor granddaughter had only been in this world a few days, and now she was already gone.
Stella looked at Dora’s vicious expression and said, “So in your eyes, the baby died because of me. Today I also laid hands on you. That should mean there won’t be any problems with divorcing your son now, right?”
“Get out! Get the hell out right now!”
Dora was losing her mind.
And Stella was actually the one bringing up divorce first? What right did she have? Even if there was going to be a divorce, it should be the Wright family initiating it. It should be them throwing her away.
What gave her the right to bring it up first?
Stella glanced at Evan,
Then she said quietly, “And just now, you were about to hit me too.”
Evan said nothing.
His face was dark and furious.

He should have been the one overflowing with anger right now. And yet, hearing Stella say those words in such a cold tone, it felt like a hand had reached into his chest and seized his heart in a brutal grip.
Just as Stella turned to leave, Evan spoke in a frigid voice.
“Wait.”
Stella stopped, but she did not turn around. “What?”

“What are you doing? You’re really letting her go?”
The second Dora saw Evan rise to his feet, looking like he meant to stop Stella, she grew even more furious.
Evan stepped forward and blocked Stella’s path. Without taking his eyes off Dora, he said coldly, “You leave first.”
“What? Evan, what the hell is wrong with you? Steven’s child is already dead, and you’re still protecting
her?”
When she realized Evan had no intention of letting Stella leave, Dora completely snapped.
Everything before this, even the house fire, she could still force herself to swallow.
But now?
“One child is already dead, and your brother’s other child is barely hanging on. Are you seriously going to keep her around until she kills that one too?”
Dora’s voice was full of rage and anguish.
She truly could not understand why, after everything had come to this point, Evan still refused to let Stella
They should have divorced a long time ago.
Evan shot her a cold, warning look and said, one word at a time, “You. Leave. First.”
The three words came out like they had been ground between his teeth.
For some reason, in that moment, Evan knew with absolute clarity that if Stella walked out that door today, he would never get her back.
