Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 276

Chapter 276

Stella had always been clearheaded.

She knew exactly where she came from. She had grown up in an orphanage. Someone like her was never supposed to belong in Evan’s world.

That was why, in the beginning, she had rejected him again and again.

He was the one who kept chasing her all over the world.

By then, Evan was completely drunk.

“But even if that damn woman turned rotten, I still love her!”

“If she dares get with Felix, I’ll go to war with him myself…”

Leon and Lucas both fell silent.

Their ears were suffering.

Seeing that Evan had finished the bottle, Leon opened another one and handed it to him. “Drink.”

Lucas immediately reached over to snatch it away. “What are you doing? You’re still giving him more?”

“He’s not asleep yet. Do you really want to keep listening to this?”

As friends, neither of them could leave him there like that.

The river was right nearby.

If they walked away and Evan, in a drunken spiral, jumped in and drowned, they would never forgive

themselves.

But listening to him ramble on like this was unbearable too.

So Leon fed him two more bottles.

At last, Evan was so out of it he could not even form a full sentence

But even then, he kept mumbling Stella’s name.

Lucas looked at Leon. “How did I never realize you had this mean streak in you?”

Leon said, “Would you rather sit here all night listening to him go on about how hard Summer has it?”

Lucas answered without hesitation. “No.”

What was so hard about Summer’s life?

Her husband died, and then she started coveting her brother-in-law.

If you asked Lucas, there was a good chance her husband’s death had something to do with her too.

Otherwise, how could she be so shamelessly fixated on Evan?

The two of them hauled Evan back to Mount Lara together.

After they came back out, Lucas thought about calling Stella.

But then he looked at the time and decided against it.

In the car, Leon asked, “Who do you think really caused that baby’s death?”

“All I know is, it wasn’t Stella.”

He and Evan had always been close.

But now that he knew Stella had finally divorced Evan, all he felt was relieved for her.

“Just drop me here,” Lucas said. “I’m heading to Clearwater Bay.”

Leon frowned. “What are you going to see Felix for?”

Lucas paused.

What was he going for?

He could not quite explain it.

He just had a strong feeling this was not over.

Stella and Evan’s divorce would not make the baby’s death disappear.

With someone like Summer, there was no telling what she would do next.

Stella had gone to bed early the night before, so she woke early too.

It was barely past seven.

As soon as she got up, she called the police station.
