Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 291

Chapter 291

The moment Evan said that, Dora practically jumped out of her seat in rage.

She felt like her head was about to split open.

Across from her fury, Evan stayed perfectly calm, taking a slow drag from his cigarette.

Dora stared at his careless, defiant attitude, then took several deep breaths, trying to force down the anger burning in her chest.

Then she said, “She has to pay for your brother’s daughter’s death. She is going to prison!

“Do you really want people reporting that the Wright family’s eldest daughter-in-law went to prison? I cannot afford that kind of humiliation!”

Evan shot her a cold glance. “Haven’t we already been humiliated enough lately? What exactly is left to be afraid of?”

That only made Dora even angrier. “Exactly. We have already lost enough face. We cannot keep letting this go on.

“Think about your brother’s daughter. How can a woman like that possibly stay in the Wright family?”

She kept trying to reason with him, but no matter what she said, Evan only looked at her coldly, completely unmoved.

Ever since this morning, after signing the first divorce agreement yesterday, he had felt hollow inside.

Now that he knew the divorce had never actually gone through, that empty space in his chest was finally beginning to fill again.

And that feeling satisfied him.

So now, with Dora pushing another divorce agreement in front of him, he simply could not bring himself to pick up the pen again.

When Evan still said nothing, Dora felt like she was going out of her mind. “Say something! Or better yet, sign it!”

“Stop just sitting there staring at me.”

The silence was making her panic.

Evan said, “If heaven doesn’t want us divorced, then we won’t get divorced.”

Dora froze.

The moment she heard that, her heart dropped straight to the pit of her stomach.

“Are you out of your mind?” she screamed. “She killed your brother’s daughter. She is going to prison!”

She had known it. Coming back to get him to sign a new agreement had been a terrible idea.

And sure enough, she had been right.

Evan said, “Then I’ll wait for her to get out. Happy?”

“You…”

That nearly made Dora pass out from anger.

Before she could say anything else, Evan grabbed the agreement and tore it to pieces.

When Dora saw the shredded paper, she snapped, “Evan Wright!”

Evan took another drag from his cigarette. “Call it fate.”.

The word ‘fate’ sounded unbearably mocking in Dora’s ears.

Her finger shook as she pointed at him. “You… you’ve lost your mind. You’ve completely lost your mind!”

Evan took another drag and turned to look out the window.

He did not say another word.

And it was that very silence that finally drove Dora out of the office in a fury.

Patrick was waiting outside.

The moment he saw Dora storm out, he hurried into the office, only to find scraps of torn paper scattered everywhere.

He stepped forward. “Sir.”

Evan said, “Find out why the Hogarth Group is targeting us. I want answers as soon as possible.”

Patrick nodded. “Yes, sir.”
