Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 300

Chapter 300

Even Dora, seated one chair away, was starting to lose her composure.

And Fiona was even worse.

Felix had not spoken loudly, but every word still reached her ears with perfect clarity.

He was going to buy it for Stella?

Why?

No matter what, Stella was still technically Evan’s wife.

Dora was especially livid.

She had come tonight planning to win this stone partly to save face in front of the other society wives.

The Wright family had lost far too much face lately.

If she could buy this as a reward for Summer after giving birth, it would at least restore a little of the family’s dignity.

Now, with Felix stepping in, Dora could not hold back.

“Felix, you can’t compete with me for this,” she said, forcing her tone soft, even maternal, with a strained smile. “Summer just gave birth for the Wright family. This is meant to be her reward.”

Felix ignored her.

That silence made the awkwardness in the air even thicker.

Dora felt her whole body go stiff with discomfort, and Fiona shot Stella a vicious glare from across the row.

Stella said, “No. I’ll bid myself.”

She was planning to win this for her brother to give to his girlfriend. If Felix bought it for her personally, what would that even mean?

Felix replied, “There’s a red diamond later.”

A red diamond?

That worked too.

Stella nodded. “That one’s fine.”

She wanted that one instead.

The moment Fiona heard Stella say the red diamond was fine, she nearly exploded.

What did that mean?

The stone she wanted, and Stella casually said that one would do?

What now?

Was she planning to steal the red diamond too?

Showing up with Felix on her arm was bad enough.

And now this?

The people seated farther back took in the scene between the Wright family, Stella, and Felix and exchanged silent looks, but no one dared say a word.

After the auctioneer finished introducing the blue diamond’s history and provenance, the bidding officially began.

The opening bid was one hundred million.

At once, paddles began going up all over the room. A lot of people had come tonight specifically for this diamond.

“One hundred ten million.”

“One hundred fifteen million.”

“One hundred twenty million.”

There was no denying it. Everyone in this room was either powerful, rich, or both.

Dora raised her paddle and called out one hundred thirty million, jumping the price by ten million in one go.

Even so, plenty of people were still bidding.

Seeing how willing Dora was to spend, Stella’s lips curved faintly.

Dora’s face might be fake and self-righteous, but the fact that Summer could make her spend over a hundred million on her showed that, in Dora’s eyes at least, Summer was worth it.

In that sense, Stella’s years in the Wright family had not been a total loss.

Dora had come tonight hoping this auction would help the family recover some of the face it had lost.

That was destined to fail.

Stella raised her paddle.

“Two hundred million.”

Even at that price, there were still people ready to keep going.

Then Felix stood up.

A staff member immediately handed him a microphone.

His gaze swept across the room, sharp and commanding behind his glasses.

“Two hundred million. Does anyone still want to bid against her?”

The room went dead silent.

With his tone, and the pressure in his eyes, he was not just bidding.

He was making it clear that he was calling the room.

A moment ago, several people had still been ready to fight for the diamond.

Now no one moved.

Dora’s heart lurched.

She shot Stella a furious look.

Two hundred million.
