Chapter 309
“Alright. Let’s just wait abit,” Fiona said.
After what happened last time with Felix, she didn’t dare ruin her image again on his turf.
But that “bit” turned into half an hour.
By the ten-minute mark, Dora was already getting impatient.
Now that it had been thirty minutes, she couldn’t hold it in anymore. “Hasn’t the person you sent in come back yet?”
“Not yet, ma’am. Please wait a little longer,” the guard replied politely.
He was respectful.
But that didn’t change the fact that they were being made to stand there.
They were both used to a life of privilege. Standing around like this was not something they tolerated well.
Dora couldn’t bring herself to suggest waiting inside the security booth either. That would be even more humiliating.
But just standing there, doing nothing-
Every second dragged.
“Let’s go,” Dora snapped suddenly. “Clearly they’re not interested in hearing such important news. Let that woman ruin their family for all I care!”
She turned to leave, furious.
An hour.
At this point, it was obvious the Hernandez family was deliberately shutting them out. Dora wasn’t blind.
Just as she was about to shake off Fiona’s hand and walk away-
“Wait! They’re coming, they’re coming!” Fiona exclaimed.
The guard who had gone inside finally came back, hurrying over to them.
Fiona spoke first, anxious. “Well? Can we go in now?”
୮
“I’m sorry, Mrs. Wright,” the guard said, still polite. “The family isn’t home. You won’t be able to see anyone today.”
Dora froze. “What? You made us wait an hour just to tell me no one’s home?”
Was this a joke?
They had stood here for an hour-
Just to hear that?

Dora’s anger flared instantly. She shot Fiona a sharp glare.
The Wright family had been trying to build ties with the Hernandez family.
And this was the kind of treatment they were getting?
“Mom, please, don’t,” Fiona said quickly, almost pleading when she saw Dora about to explode.
She had already ruined her image once in front of Felix. She didn’t want her mother to lose control here too.
Dora’s voice shook with anger. “This is just ”
“It’s not settled yet. Don’t burn the bridge for me,” Fiona cut in softly.
She really had reflected on what happened that day.
Yes, she had been humiliated.
But looking back, wasn’t it her own fault?
Mrs. Lewis hadn’t even secured anything yet, and she had already made a scene at Felix Corporation.
And worse, Felix had seen it.
She couldn’t afford a second mistake.
From the way Fiona held back now, it was obvious how deeply she cared about Felix.
Dora stared at her, speechless for a moment. “You… fine. Let’s go.’
