Chapter 312
Felix shot him a cold, dangerous look.
Evan had come here to say something–
But after everything Felix had just said, his mind wasn’t just blank.
His heart felt hollow.
He knew exactly why Stella had fallen for him the first time.
It was never because of him.
Never.
He had always thought no one would ever find out.
But the way Felix said it-
He clearly knew.
Evan looked at him, his voice tight. “How do you know that?”
Felix’s tone turned even sharper. “If it concerns me, how could I not know?”
Evan went silent.
His already unsteady breathing grew heavier, his chest sinking further at those words.
Felix narrowed his eyes. “Funny thing is, you go out of your way to involve yourself in things that have nothing to do with you. But the things that do? How much do you actually know?”
The things he should have known-
He knew nothing about.
Felix’s cold, cutting words were clearly pointing at one thing.
Everything going on between Evan and Summer.
All the things she had done recently….
He had no idea.
And instead, he had pinned everything on Stella.
Evan didn’t even remember how he got out of Hernandez Corporation.
He stood outside the building, lit a cigarette.
The wind swept his hair and the smoke in the same direction.
His phone rang.

Pattick.
“Sir, the Hogarth Group
“What about them now?” Evan cut him off sharply. “Are they not satisfied until they tear Wright Corp apart?”
His patience was gone.
The Hogarth Group was coming at him like a rabid dog.
And no matter how he thought about it, he couldn’t figure out what grudge they had against him.
There shouldn’t have been one.
Patrick hadn’t found anything either.
“Our project near the West border… in Tinnery State,” Patrick said carefully. “We’re probably going to lose that too.”
Evah froze for a second.
Then lowered his head and took a hard drag from his cigarette.
The Hogarth Group…
They really were trying to rip Wright Corp to pieces.
“Did you get through to anyone over there?” he asked.
He had already planned to go to the Eirden in person.
Even though Wright Corp was one of the top players in Harbor City, going up against a global giant like the Hogarth Group was like throwing eggs at a rock.
Patrick had managed to contact one of their senior executives,
But-
“We did,” Patrick said. “But after a couple of lines, they hung up. Didn’t want to talk on the phone.”
“What did they say?”
“They said they didn’t know. That they weren’t aware of anything.”
Evan’s grip tightened around the cigarette.
Didn’t know?
So the entire upper management of Hogarth was refusing to talk about this?
He took another drag.
Looks like he really would have to make that trip himself.
Then Patrick spoke again, more cautiously this time.

“Could it be… because of your wife?”
He chose his words carefully.
He had switched back to “your wife” instead of “Ms. Rowan” after noticing Evan’s reaction before.
Evan’s expression darkened instantly. “You think this is because of her?”
Not because of Felix?
“I’m not sure,” Patrick admitted.
“But the way she’s been acting lately… and the way Hogarth is targeting us—it almost looks coordinated. Like inside and outside working together.”
