Chapter 499
Felix said, “Just one sip. Try it.”
Since he put it that way, the soup was probably genuinely good. Stella reluctantly picked up the spoon and took a sip.
To be fair, it was excellent.
The chefs at the Wright estate were good too, but Stella had been drinking so much soup lately that she was truly tired of it.
“How did you know I liked all of this?” Stella asked again.
Felix said, “I’ve always known.”
Stella fell silent.
Always known?
Hearing him say that, she looked at him again.
When had it started?
Back when she had been with Evan, Evan had rarely brought her along to meet his friends.
At private gatherings, Fiona always followed Evan around like a shadow.
As for business occasions, Evan usually attended them with Steven.
And wherever Steven went, Summer was there.
So in that circle, Stella had often felt like an outsider who had been quietly excluded.
“When is Christian arriving?” Felix asked.
Christian was an elegant older gentleman, tall and lean. He was already in his fifties, but he took excellent care of himself.
“Probably in the next day or two,” Stella said. “Evan has completely lost his mind.
“He keeps telling me Christian is married and shouting about how he’s going to go after him.”
Honestly, the things Evan came up with were becoming more ridiculous one after another.
Felix said, “Let him.”
Was Evan still not satisfied with how much trouble he had already caused?
And now he wanted to go after Christian?
After hearing what Stella had told him, even Felix could not understand what Evan was thinking.
At a time like this, Evan actually still dared to think about targeting Christian.
Stella said, “I don’t care what he does.”
Back when she had still regarded Evan as her husband, their interests had been tied together. If one rose, the other rose. If one fell, the other fell.

But things were different now.
Now Stella was perfectly willing to let him destroy himself.
After dinner, it was already dark on the drive back.
The warm amber glow of the streetlights poured in through the car window, softening the man’s profile.
Felix was very handsome.
Stella had never really noticed it before, but now that she was closer to him and knew him better, she realized that this man, who had once seemed cold at a single glance, carried a gentle warmth that made people feel at ease.
And that feeling was familiar.
So familiar it almost startled her.
Felix drove Stella straight back to the Wright estate.
He got out first and opened the car door for her like a gentleman.
“If being here makes you unhappy, you don’t have to stay and watch them yourself.”
“No,” Stella said, shaking her head. “I don’t feel unhappy here at all.”
How could she feel unhappy now?
The people who should feel suffocated in this place were them.
Even if she did nothing but stay here every day, her presence alone was enough to make them feel trapped.
Felix said, “End it as soon as possible.”
He reminded her again, his meaning clear.
He did not want her to remain married to Evan any longer.
Stella paused slightly when she heard that, but then she nodded.
“I know.”
Soon.
All of this would be over soon.
Stella turned and went inside.
On the second floor, Fiona was cleaning the windows. When she saw Felix personally bring Stella home, venom filled her eyes. She hated Stella so much her teeth ached.
