Chapter 500

Jack glanced at Felix through the rearview mirror. “Sir?”

“Stop the car.”

Compared to the anger burning in Evan’s eyes, Felix looked completely calm.

The car stopped half a meter from Evan’s. Eväni got out and walked toward Felix’s car.

Felix lowered the window and looked at him.

Evan said, “You saw her again?”

Felix asked, “So?”

“If you’re so capable, then make her divorce me. She’s still legally married to me, yet she keeps meeting you. What exactly is that supposed to be?”

Felix said, “A humiliation to you.”

Evan fell silent.

So did Patrick and Jack.

Jack, in particular, was stunned. After working for Felix for so many years, this was the first time he realized Felix could be this cutting when he wanted to be.

Evan’s cold expression stiffened for a moment.

Then he let out a mocking laugh. “A humiliation to me?”

Unbelievable.

How had he ever become brothers with someone like this? How had they stayed brothers for so many years?

Felix asked, “Do you regret it?”

There had once been so many chances for Evan and Stella to live well together.

Felix had reminded him again and again.

Each reminder had been a chance.

But Evan had never cherished any of them.

Again and again, he had run back to the old mansion.

Again and again, he had hurt Stella for Summer’s sake.

Evan said nothing.

Did he regret it?

Hearing Felix ask that made his chest tighten.

If he had to say, then yes, he had regretted it before.

The moment he found out Stella had truly been pregnant, he had regretted it.

He had also known that Stella would never forgive him.

But that regret had been worn down little by little under Stella’s relentless retaliation.

Now, rather than regret or guilt, what he wanted more was to free himself from this marriage as soon as possible.

Evan said, “Tell her to divorce me.”

Felix said nothing.

“After all, you want to be with her openly too, don’t you?” Evan added after a pause.

As he said it, his chest felt painfully tight.

He loved Stella.

He had once loved her deeply.

But in the end, that love had left him covered in wounds.

If he and Stella could have lived well together, why would he ever say these things to Felix?

In the past, if Felix had dared covet Stella like this, Evan would never have let it go.

But now…

Now he almost wished Stella would disappear from his life because of another man.

Hearing Evan say that, danger flashed through Felix’s eyes.

A moment later, he said, “Don’t worry. She will divorce you.”

“Just not now.”

At this point, Felix paused slightly.

Then a mocking smile curved his lips. “I was going to tell you to cherish the time you have left, but it seems you can’t enjoy it anyway.”

The mockery in his voice was especially sharp when he said ‘time you have left’ and ‘can’t enjoy it’.

Evan’s face darkened completely.

Enjoy it?

Of course he could not enjoy it.

Stella had thrown the entire Wright estate into chaos. Who could enjoy anything under her pressure?

And the word ‘cherish’ stabbed especially hard at Evan’s nerves.

At first glance, perhaps the final stretch of time should have been cherished.

But right now, all he wanted was to escape.

Felix glanced at the car blocking the road ahead. “Are you not going to move? Or do you want me to spend the night at the Wright estate?”

Evan fell silent.
