Now that Stella had already left Eirden, Aaron had no choice but to demand her return directly from Amos.
“She doesn’t want to go back,” Amos said. “You should respect her decision.”
“I’m not wasting time arguing with you.”
“Keep pushing me, and I really will kill her.”
“Then think carefully about what will happen to your family…”
“Stop.”
The moment Amos heard the word family, he ended the call.
So that was how Aaron intended to handle this?
He was going to come at Amos with brute force?
Furious, Amos paced back and forth across the room.
Eventually, he headed straight for the medical wing.
The moment he walked in, he saw a man lying there, almost completely wrapped in bandages.
It was Evan.
Evan was conscious, but he could barely move.
Looking at him, Amos could not help saying, “I’m starting to think none of this was worth it.”
Evan turned a sharp, hostile gaze on him.
“Love is supposed to go both ways,” Amos continued. “But her heart isn’t with you anymore.”
Felix had not won her over either.
Even so, Stella’s heart no longer belonged to Evan.
As far as Amos was concerned, sacrificing this much for a woman who did not love him was pointless.
Though admittedly, Evan had been the one who wronged Stella first.
“Get out,” Evan said coldly.
He had no interest in discussing this with Amos.
“No, listen…”
Amos was close to losing his mind.
“Felix and Aaron interfered with the Kylo deal. The partnership is dead.”
Evan said nothing.
“If we don’t hand her over, they’ll only become more aggressive.”
