Chapter 15
Lottie
Life went back to normal. I threw myself into finishing the decorating and even had someone come around to fix the broken window
which was money spent that I wanted to save.
Everything was peaceful and quiet. Exactly how I wanted my life to be but I couldn’t help but glance over at next door whenever I
was in the garden and wonder what he was doing?
Was Xander thinking about me like I was thinking about him? It was crazy because I’d only just met him but he kind of haunted my
thoughts.
There was something enormously charasmatic about him. A goodness that drew you in.
There was only two negatives that I could think of.
One he was a biker and two, he had a boyfriend. The fact he was with a man didn’t bother me, the fact he was in a relationship did.
It didn’t matter whether he wanted to admit he was in one or not, he was.
And then there was Irish himself. There was just something about him that made me uncomfortable. It was a prickly kind of unease
that I couldn’t seem to shake.
Shaking the thought away, I stepped out into the early morning sunshine and almost dropped my coffee on to the deck.
Irish was sitting right there, his back to me. Hoody pulled up over his head even though it was already boiling out. The leather of
his cut seemed to fit the width of his muscled back perfectly.
I could smell it where the sun hit it. And it smelled good.
He smelt good.
The familiar scent of his aftershave tickled my nostrils
“Irish.” I didn’t know how I knew it was him but I did. Goosebumps erupted up my arms. “What are you doing here?”
My feet remained rooted to the spot. So I was staring at the back of his head
“I came to talk to you Lottie.” He said in a much gruffer voice than I remembered. Like he’d been chain smoking. I glanced down to
the side of him and my nose wrinkled in disgust at the small pile of ciggertte ends there.
“How long have you been out here?”
He shrugged. while. I didn’t know what time you got up and I wanted to talk to you.”

Chapter 15
“You said that before.” Rolling my eyes I took a sip of the coffee in my mug. It burnt my tongue and I winced back with a cry.
do you want to talk to me about?”
“I don’t like you.”
I did a double take. “I’m well aware. I’m not that fond of you either but that doesn’t actually answer my question. Why.” I stressed
each word. “Are you here?”
“Xander.” He said softly.
I let out a puff of breath. “I thought it might be. Look I didn’t know you guys were in a relationship.”
“He misses you.” He ground out completely shutting me off. “He doesn’t say anything but he’s even more moody than usual.” A hand came up to scratch under his hood. “I don’t like you.”
“You’ve said that before.”
“But he does. I don’t know what he told you about us but we aren’t in that kind of relationship. We just have fun.” He shrugged his wide shoulders. Well he shrugged one shoulder and I frowned.
Jesus.
Why did he have to do that. It was just what Killian used to do when he was backed into a corner and being forced to do something
he didn’t want to do.
Which growing up had been everything.
“He doesn’t want fun with you. He wants something real.”
“But-”
“No buts.” Standing up he stretched his arms above his head. Flashing a tanned line of muscled back for my eyes to feast on. “Go and talk to him so I don’t have to live with a hormonal teenager any longer. I’ll step back. You don’t have to worry about stepping on any toes. If you like him-” his shoulders hunched. “If you really like him then talk to him. I’ll be gone anyway.”
“I don’t want to push you from your home.” I whispered.
Throwing back his head he laughed. “Well that makes a change doesn’t it.”
My eyebrows slammed down. What the hell did he mean by that?
“You’re not. I have some business to take care of.” He added quickly, “It should give you both some time together so he can get you
out of his system.”
Over the rim of my steaming coffee mug I stared at his back. “And what if he doesn’t get me out of his system.”
