Chapter 105 A Breaking Mind

“I’m sick, okay?! This is all because of you, Raymond! You owe me your life! You think you can just walk away from me like this?!
“Dream on! You’ll owe me forever! I saved your life! You have to stay with me! You love me! You did before, and you still do now! This is all because of Agnes!”
Hillary had completely lost control. One second she was screaming like her heart was breaking. The next, she sounded unstable, almost pitiful.
“She seduced you, didn’t she? Raymond… please, I’m begging you… don’t leave me. I have nothing. I only have you. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have gone to Montara and left you back then. Please don’t leave me. I won’t get treatment anymore. I’ll do anything. I can be your lover… I don’t care. I’ll do whatever you want. Please…”
Raymond frowned. He said a few words into his phone. Soon, several people in white coats rushed in.
The moment Hillary saw them, she panicked and hid behind Raymond. “What are you doing?!”
“Hillary,” Raymond said calmly, “your body is fine, but your mind isn’t. This office has cameras. Everything you just did was recorded. It will be used for your treatment. Don’t worry. Focus on getting better and leave the rest to us.”
Hillary froze for a second. Then she snapped.
“Raymond! You jerk! You’ll regret this! I’m not sick! Let me go! Get off me! Raymond! I won’t let you go! And Agnes too! I won’t let either of you live in peace!”
She didn’t get to finish.
One of the doctors saw she was out of control and quickly gave her a shot. Within seconds, her body went limp, and she passed out.
A doctor walked over to Raymond. “Mr. Newton, everything is ready. The car is waiting downstairs.”
Raymond gave a small nod. “Once she gets to Montara, make sure she gets proper treatment. She’s in bad
ayment. shape. Call me if anything comes up.”
‘Yes, Mr. Newton.”
After Hillary was taken away, Raymond stayed in the room alone.
There were many things he had always known. And many things he had cared about. He had just chosen to pretend he didn’t.
One night, not long after he married Agnes, he came home early. By accident, he overheard a conversation between Agnes and Judy.
It hit him like a thunderbolt. His heart went cold.
But every time he looked at Agnes, he couldn’t bring himself to let her go.

So he did things that hurt her. He pushed her away, hoping she would leave on her own.
And one day, she finally did. But then he hesitated. He became afraid of losing her. He couldn’t let go.
Until the moment he saw her locked inside that freezer-caught between life and death.
That was when he truly felt fear. All his life, he had feared nothing.
Except for that one moment. It felt like falling into the deep ocean. Everything went silent. The pressure closed in around him. He couldn’t breathe.
Regret. Fear. Pain. Helplessness. All of it rushed at him at once, stabbing straight into his heart.
During the days Agnes was unconscious, Raymond had prayed over and over. As long as she lived, he was willing to give up years of his own life.
It didn’t matter if she loved him or not. It didn’t matter why she stayed by his side. As long as he loved her… that was enough.
After a long while, Raymond returned to Agnes’s hospital room.
Agnes was busy on her phone. Without her around, the shop had been in chaos. The staff could barely keep up.
Before, Rebecca handled everything in an orderly way. Even if Agnes disappeared for a few days, nothing would fall apart.
But lately, Rebecca had been missing too. Maybe she was busy with school or something else. No one really knew.
Now Agnes was in the hospital, and the shop had lost both of their key leaders. Things had gone completely out of control.
Agnes had just started to recover, and she was already trying to manage the shop again.
Raymond reached out and gently took her phone, setting it aside. “You’re not well. Stop looking at your phone so much. Get some rest.”
Agnes had been so focused that she didn’t even notice him come in.
She quickly hid her phone under the blanket and looked at him.

“My body is weak, not my eyes,” she said. “Why are you back again? Isn’t your Hillary sick all the time? Go take care of her. Stop bothering me.”
Raymond looked at her steadily. “She won’t show up here again. Not in front of you. Not between us.”
Agnes blinked, surprised. “What do you mean?”
