Love Never Wilts in a Moment novel Chapter 9

Luma watched as Simon’s car pulled away. Remembering that he had left her behind for Hertha, she clenched her fists in 

indignation. She was so angry that she gnashed her teeth together. She took her phone out again and sent another message to Bertha. 

[Bertha, if you know your place, leave Simon. He doesn’t need a deaf person as his wife.] 

After that, she happily hummed and went upstairs to continue watching her show. 

Simon sped back. Even though he got caught in the evening traffic, he still managed to reduce his trip to only forty minutes, when it was supposed to take one hour. 

When he opened the door to his house, he could not find Bertha anywhere. In the end, he stopped in front of the bedroom door. 

Assuming that she was sleeping inside, Simon took a deep breath before he opened the door to enter. 

He removed his shoes and walked barefoot on the floorboards. Worried that he would wake her, he walked on tiptoes as he turned 

on the flashlight app on his phone. But when he saw the empty bed, he noticed that there was no one in the bedroom. Their wedding photo was also gone from its spot above the bed. Only a pen drive and folder were left on the bed. 

Curiosity made him pick up the pen drive and plug it into the computer. While he waited for the pen drive to load, he opened the folder. 

At the very top of the contents inside was a piece of paper, and on it were the words, “divorce agreement.” Simon was stunned for few seconds. He read the agreement rapidly although his hands were trembling. Then, he saw a name he was intimately familiar with on the final page: Bertha Marsh 

He could recognize her handwriting, and it had been firmly left on the paper. 

Simon panicked even more. With the last shred of hope, he opened the folder in the pen drive as his hands continued to tremble. But all of the explanations he wanted to offer Bertha became useless when he saw what was inside. All possible hope for them to reconcile faded away. 

[Simon loves me the most. Bertha, if you have any sense, leave.] 

Simon felt like he was losing his mind as he stared at the screen. He kept scrolling down, as though he was searching for something. But aside from things related to him and Luna, there was nothing else, and he panicked. At that moment, he received an email, so he opened it. 

[Simon, you must have seen everything by now. Was I ever on your mind when you slept with Luna, went out shopping with her, 

and even slept with her in the hospital? Do you remember what you said when you married me? You told me that I was unique and 

that you wanted to give me all your love. But later on, I watched you give her flowers. I was reminded of when you put in the effort 

to collect valuable flowers for me. I realized then that you could put in effort for anyone, not just me. When I learned that you bought her haute couture in Paris, I was reminded of the emerald you bought for me during the auction. So, you never went for 

my sake, and I was never unique to you.]
