**Chapter 91: Laws**

As I sit poring over the training schedules that Grandpa meticulously prepared for both Nero and me, the atmosphere in the main living room feels almost charged. Pack members come and go, their footsteps barely registering in my mind as I focus on the details in front of me. Despite the constant movement, none of them seem to pay me any mind, which is a relief. Each member of the Pack, regardless of their rank, has a training requirement to fulfill. It’s a hierarchy that runs deep within our community, and the rules are as steadfast as the moon in the night sky.
Omegas, the lowest rank, are required to train three times a week, but many choose to push themselves further, seeking improvement and acceptance. Sigmas, on the other hand, must train six times a week, which translates to a daily commitment. They have the freedom to select their training times, and from what I’ve gathered, most of them take their obligations seriously, often adding extra sessions to their schedules. The rest of the Pack members? They’re expected to train twice a day, six days a week. It’s astonishing to see how many manage to squeeze in a third session on most days—dedication that speaks volumes about their commitment to the Pack.
Just as I’m about to delve into the last file, I sense someone settling beside me. I glance up, momentarily distracted from my reading, and my heart sinks. A female. The moment her presence registers, Khal, my Lycan, begins to growl lowly within me, a warning that I heed.
“Hi,” she says, her voice sultry, as she places a hand on my knee. I jerk away instinctively, pushing her hand off as Khal’s growl rises in intensity. “I was hoping you and I could have some fun.”
“Not interested,” I reply firmly, rising from my seat and moving to an armchair across the room. “I have a Mate.”
She scoffs, her eyes narrowing with disdain. “She is your Sister, and this Pack will never allow you to mark her. You better give up on the idea of living happily ever after with your Mate. Our Pack members won’t accept a Mate-bond between the two of you. You’d be wise to ensure that you and your Brothers find yourselves another Mate before our Pack members chase you all out.”
Her words hang in the air, heavy with the weight of their implications. I pull my arm free from her grasp, Khal growling once more, his frustration palpable. It’s as if she is completely oblivious to the danger she’s courting, blind to the fact that I am already marked, or deaf to Khal’s warning growls echoing in the silent room.
Scanning the living room, I notice that only a handful of other females are present, each of them eyeing me and my Brothers with a mixture of desire and challenge. “This is a friendly warning,” one of them interjects, her tone dripping with condescension. “We will never accept a Mate-bond between you and your Sister. We will make her life a living hell if you do not stay away from her.”
“I’m sorry, Nikolay,” he continues, frustration evident in his tone. “Dad has been trying his hardest to make them understand the importance of waiting for a true Mate-bond, but they are hell-bent on securing a High-ranking male as their Mate, regardless of who they might hurt in the process.”
We wait for their parents and Uncle Josh to arrive, but the females seem unimpressed, their eyes rolling as if they’re above this situation. After ten long minutes, Uncle Josh strides in, Aunt Mable accompanying him. I can’t help but think it was wise of her to join him; she’ll likely temper his temper if things get out of hand.
As the parents of each female gather, I can’t wait to hear Uncle Josh’s take on this. Judging by their expressions, I suspect they are unaware of their daughters’ behavior. Aunt Mable addresses the parents, her voice steady as she informs them that their daughters have been summoned to the Alpha office multiple times due to their disrespect for the true Mate-bond. Disapproving growls and snarls ripple through the crowd as she shares the details.
Before Aunt Mable can delve too deeply, I interject, “Luna Mable, they thought I was an Alpha simply because I reside on the Alpha floor. They also threatened to make Alayah’s life a living hell if my Brothers and I didn’t accept them as our Mates, believing we can’t be mated to our Stepsister.”
“It would be best if we discussed their punishment in private, and then inform them of their consequences in front of the entire Pack. They’ve received enough warnings already, and it’s high time the Pack understands that everyone must adhere to our Laws.”
