Chapter 128
-Andi-
I woke up with a groan and rolled onto my back to stretch my tight muscles, but a shooting pain rushed through every part of my body. My head, my stomach, my legs, and my arms. Awareness slowly slithered through my senses as I forced my eyes open. There was no way to tell where I was or what time it was.
There was nothing around me but darkness. The stale air was thick with dust and rancid memories of oil
On my hands and knees, I crawled until I bumped into a solid wall. The mold on the structure made it twice colder than the ground. I tipped my head up, forcing the dizziness away as I listened to whatever was outside this room, but I heard nothing apart from my own breathing.
I wanted to laugh at how oblivious I had been. I thought Lucas was just stupid for not taking my phone. He didn’t have to. He took me away from my car, making it impossible for me to ask for help from anyone.
I turned over my left wrist and pressed the button on my watch. Its low light allowed a sliver of illumination in the room.
It’s 9 in the evening. Someone had probably figured out I was not in my room. I just hope they don’t assume I was just taking a stroll somewhere, since that’s all I’ve been doing in the past weeks.
I don’t let my hope wane. If not Mom, there’s Beckett. He will figure out that something is wrong once I don’t call or message him. He cares too much to leave me alone; I have to trust that. My tears were already prickling my eyes when I heard a loud bang outside.
I scrambled to my feet, pushing through the pain as I followed where the sound was coming from. I staggered on my own feet, freezing when the door to the room creaked open.
I debated whether to run away from the door or rush to it when the sole light from a flashlight struck me in the face, blinding me.
I raised my hand, trying to make out who it was.
“He…. help…” My throat was rougher than sandpaper.
“There she is, alive and well,” Lucas‘ stiff voice rumbled behind the light.
All hope that someone had found me died down when I heard his voice. The sneer on his face was clear in his tone. I can’t see through the flashlight hitting my face, but I assume he’s holding a phone to record my current situation.
“Let me talk to her,” Beckett’s voice grumbled from the phone. His tone was a mix of anger, hope, and confusion.
“Be… Beckett?” I put my hand down and stared at Lucas’s flashlight. “Beckett?”
“Andi!” Beckett groaned. “I’m coming for you, okay!”
“No!” I recoiled, shaking my head. I know that if he comes for me, Lucas will hurt him, and I can’t take that. “No, Beckett.”
Lucas scoffed. “You got your proof, now sign that marriage contract.”
“M.. Marraige?” I stuttered, my blinded eyes growing wide as dread spiralled through my body. “What are you talking
about?”
I don’t hear Beckett again, only Lucas’s voice. “That’s none of your concern, chica.” He turned the lights off, and I heard the creaking of the door as he closed it.

-Beckett-
“What do you mean she’s missing?” I felt like my whole world crumbled here’s my sexs a Cold’s met Start
I knew something was up when I saw him on the tarmac. I was too cadent to see heat, so I work our gearse for onest of our scheduled flight back home.
Our first game in the division series didn’t go well. We lost its gene 1 of the best of thes, and it had beatening wo for the team. All I wanted to do was sneak into Andi’s room and cuddle, well her secrise geflivere, wat turn everything would be fine. She’s the only one who could make me feel better, en Cole
We were in the back seat of Cole’s SUV Reed was on the driver’s she and Dean was on foxequa
No one answered my question as the tension in my shoulder tipened. My mind raced through every possible reassen wing Cole said Andi was missing. It couldn’t be Matias He’s still in Cole’s constetry
I gritted my teeth and demanded an answer from Cole. He’s not usually this reserved. He had always been the jolly and talkative one. “Cole, tell me what happened”
Cole sighed, and as I stared at his side profile, I saw the evident frown line on his face. His eyes were douted with worry. “Andi’s mom came to After Hour looking for her this afternoon. And we found this
He handed me his phone. It was footage from the After Hour parking lot. It was empty, and the resolution was almost grainy because it was nighttime.
The parking lot was empty apart from Andi’s car and two motorcycles. Andi emerged from the back door, bag hanging lazily on her shoulder. Her head hung low as she unlocked the car with the key fob. The car lights blinked once, and my heart pounded as the guy in all black suddenly emerged out of nowhere. He had a cap on, and she walked casually towards Andi’s car.
My heart was pounding in my chest as I watched the next scene. The guy waited until Andi was seated inside the car before he opened the passenger–side door; the camera caught the shadow of a gun in his hand
The car didn’t leave immediately. I can’t imagine how scared Andi was riding with a stranger who had a gun pointed at her
head.
Then they slowly exited the parking lot. I stared at the screen with my heart blocking my throat.
Andi had been abducted, and that was more than twelve hours ago. She could have been in another state by now, afraid and
alone.
I wanted to crush Cole’s phone in my hand, slam my fist into the window. I want to break everything. How could I have been a fool to follow her wishes to remove the security detail shadowing her? Lucas Santiago was still out there, and who knows who he was working with or for. I should have been more careful. I could’ve done more.
I took three deep breaths and counted to ten. My mind needs to be calm. We can still find her. We will find her.

“Have they reached out yet?” For someone who was panicking inside, my voice was surprisingly calm.

“Not yet,” Cole murmured, his voice clipped. “We tapped into every traffic camera, and Andi’s car exited on Rose Creek.” “Rose Creek?” I frowned. Rose Creek Exit is a bypass road that leads toward the harbor or the airport. She could be on a plane to Alaska by now, and we don’t even know it.
“We have people at the airport and harbor searching for her now. There had been no log of Andi leaving by ferry or by plane,” Cole narrated.
“You did all that and forgot to tell me?” I didn’t mean to raise my voice at my cousin. He’d done everything that needed to be done to find Andi. But why was I the last to know?
“I’m telling you now,” he explained with a shrug of his shoulder.
I can’t bite down on the anger that fills my chest. “What the fuck, Cole? Andi had been missing for over twelve hours now, and that’s all you can say?”
“Hey, watch your tone. This is all your fault, for all I care,” he grumbled, pursing his lips like a kid pouting.
“My fault?” My eyebrows knitted together.
“Look, if you hadn’t come into Andi’s life, do you think this Lucas Santiago would bail her father out?” Coles started to call me out on my bullshit. This had been a lingering question in my head, but no one dared speak to me more blatantly than Cole.
“Everything started with you, Beck, and all you did was leave your woman unprotected. You even told Nana Lucy to pull our her people from watching Andi,” Cole sighed. “If you want Andi to be part of this family, you should have told her everything by now, so she understands what she was getting into.”
He’s got a point, but I was too stubborn to admit it before him. I was just following Andi’s instructions. I didn’t want to overstep again and lose her in the process.
“I get it,” Cole let out a grumble. “You want to be the good guy for Andi, but sometimes, we’ve gotta be the bad guy to protect those we care about.”
Just in time, my phone chimed with a message from an unknown number. It’s creepy as fuck, with an address and a picture of Andi’s car parked in front of an abandoned warehouse.
No cops or she’s dead, the caption said.
Cole peeked into my phone and chuckled. “Cops? This punk doesn’t know who he’s dealing with, huh?”
I glared at the screen, sliding my thumb over the car. Andi could be inside or somewhere near the car. This guy asked not to involve the cops, and that thought didn’t even cross my mind. If the cops were involved, I wouldn’t be able to kill him, and 1 would make sure his blood would be on my hands.
