For a second, I just stared at her, trying to understand why she was being so serious, and then I let out a small, tired scoff that barely made it past my lips.

“Ivy, stop being dramatic,” I muttered, my head throbbing as I shifted slightly on the bed. “Just say whatever you want to say.”

She didn’t move.

Instead, she shook her head lightly, her expression still serious in a way that made my stomach twist. “No, Luna. I’m serious. You need to sit up.” she insisted. “Even if it hurts. I’m not comfortable saying this with you lying down like that.”

There was something in her voice that made it clear she wasn’t going to let this go, and even though I didn’t have the energy for this kind of back and forth, I knew she wasn’t going to talk unless I did what she wanted.

Letting out a tired sigh, I pushed my hands against the bed and tried to sit up, but the moment I moved, pain shot through my body, and I groaned softly under my breath. Everything felt heavy, and the heat didn’t make it any easier.

“Help me,” I muttered, and she moved quickly, sliding one arm behind my back and helping me sit up properly against the headboard. The movement made my head spin for a second, and I closed my eyes briefly until the dizziness passed, my breathing uneven as I tried to steady myself.

Once I was sitting up, Ivy moved closer and sat beside me on the bed, her body turned slightly toward me. She took another deep breath, like she was still trying to prepare herself, and then she started talking.

“Okay… listen,” she said slowly. “I know what I’m about to say is going to sound crazy, like really crazy, and I know you’re probably not going to believe me at first.” She paused for a moment, her hands resting on her lap as she glanced at me, and I could feel my patience running thin

“Ivy,” I said, my voice sharper than before despite how weak I felt. “Just say it already.”

She nodded slightly, like she expected that reaction, and then she continued. “With what you just told me about the full moon… and with everything I’ve been studying for the last ten years… I have every reason to believe that…” She trailed off again, and that only made my frustration spike.

“Talk.” I snapped weakly.

She let out one last sigh before finally saying it.

“I think you’re a werewolf.”

Chapter 36

The words hung in the air between us, confusing and strange, and for a few seconds, I didn’t react at all. I just stared at her. my face completely blank as my brain tried to process what she had just said. The heat in my body was still there, and the pain was still there, but for a moment, everything else faded into the background because there was no way she had just said that to me seriously.

Ivy kept going. “And not just that,” she added carefully, watching my reaction. “With everything that’s been happening to you, the heat, the sensitivity, the way your body is reacting. I think you’re in heat, like… wolf heat, and those football guys…” She hesitated slightly before finishing. They might be your mates, which means they’re also werewolves like you.”

There was silence. A long, quiet silence stayed between us, and Ivy shifted slightly beside me, clearly waiting for me to react When I didn’t say anything, she frowned a little.

“Luna?” she called softly. “Did you hear what I said?”

That was when I laughed.

It wasn’t a happy laugh, and it also wasn’t even a normal laugh. It was loud and sudden, like my body reacted before my brain could catch up, and the moment the sound left my mouth, my head throbbed painfully, forcing me to stop almost immediately. I winced slightly, pressing a hand against my temple as I looked at her again.

“Are you out of your mind?” I asked, my voice low but filled with disbelief.

Ivy didn’t answer right away.

I shook my head slowly, trying to make sense of what she had just said, but it only made everything worse. “I can’t even smell alcohol on you.” I added, my brows pulling together. “So you’re not drunk. Which means you’re actually serious right now.” I let out a short, disbelieving breath. “You really think… that I’m a werewolf?”

The word felt ridiculous even leaving my mouth.

“A wolf?” I continued, my tone sharper now despite how tired I felt. “A stupid mythical creature that doesn’t even exist?”

Ivy sighed softly, like she had expected this exact reaction. “I know it sounds ridiculous,” she said, her voice calmer now. “I know it doesn’t make sense if you’ve never thought about it before, but Luna, everything you’ve been experiencing matches it perfectly.”

I let out a weak scoff. “No, it doesn’t,” I muttered.

“Yes, it does,” she insisted gently. “The heat, the sensitivity to sound, the way your body is reacting to the guys, and right now, the connection to the full moon…, all of it. Those are signs of a wolf in heat, and the reason it’s this intense might be because you didn’t know what you were before now. This could be your first heat, and your body is just… reacting all at

once.

I shook my head again, even though it made my head hurt more. “Stop,” I said, my voice quieter now but still firm. “Just stop.“-

She hesitated.

“My head is killing me right now,” I added, closing my eyes briefly as another wave of heat passed through me. “I don’t have time for this. I don’t have the energy for this.” I opened my eyes again and looked at her, my expression tired and frustrated at the same time. “So how about you just… keep your theories to yourself for now and let me sleep?”

Ivy didn’t respond immediately.

She just sat there, looking at me like she wanted to argue, like she wanted to say more, but for once, she stayed quiet, and honestly, I was grateful for that, because the last thing I needed right now was more words, more confusion, and more things that didn’t make any sense.
