Chapter 55
Luna’s POV
I didn’t think I had ever been this bored in my life, and that was saying something because my life had not exactly been exciting before all of this. Just a few hours ago, everything had been too much for me to handle. The pain, the confusion, the strange things happening to my body, and the even stranger things those boys kept saying.
It had all been overwhelming to the point where I thought I might actually lose my mind, but now, after eating more food than I probably should have, and after sitting in the same spot for what felt like forever, the silence was starting to get to me in a completely different way. It wasn’t comforting or peaceful anymore. It just made my thoughts louder, and right now, my thoughts were the last thing I needed to deal with.
I lay on the bed for a while, staring up at the ceiling like it was going to give me answers if I looked long enough, but it didn’t. My body felt strange, like I had too much energy and no energy at the same time. I felt restless, like I needed to move, but also weak, like I shouldn’t. It didn’t make sense, and that alone was enough to irritate me.
I turned my head slowly and looked over at Ivy, who was still fast asleep beside me. She looked completely exhausted, her face relaxed in a way that made it obvious she had been pushing herself too much. I remembered how she looked earlier while we were eating, how she had tried to act normal, but her eyes kept drooping, and her movements were slower than usual.
For a second, I thought about waking her up just so I wouldn’t have to sit here alone with my thoughts, but the moment I really looked at her, I changed my mind. She needed the rest, and I wasn’t about to take that from her just because I couldn’t sit still.
I let out a sigh as I slowly pushed myself up from the bed, swinging my legs over the side and placing my feet on the floor. The ground felt cool against my skin, and for a moment, I just sat there, staring at nothing in particular while my thoughts continued to run in circles. Then my eyes drifted toward the door, and I found myself staring at it longer than I should have.
They had told me to stay here, to not leave, to just wait until everything passed, but the more I sat there, the more I felt like I was going to crawl out of my own skin. I needed something to distract me, something to take my mind off everything, even if it was just for a little while, and honestly, I was curious. I didn’t want to admit it, but I was.
I already knew these guys were rich. Ivy had made that very clear from day one, and even without her, it wasn’t hard to tell. Everything about them screamed money, from the way they carried themselves to the kind of house they lived in, but I hadn’t really seen anything yet. I had been stuck in this one room, like some kind of guest who wasn’t allowed to explore, and it was starting to bother me.
If I was going to be stuck here, the least I could do was look around a little. It wasn’t like I was planning to snoop through their things or anything. I just wanted to see.
“I’m just taking a walk,” I muttered to myself under my breath, like I needed to convince myself it was okay. “Not doing anything wrong.”
With that, I stood up fully and made my way toward the door. My steps were slow at first, like part of me was still unsure, but I pushed that feeling aside and opened the door quietly before stepping out into the hallway.
The moment I stepped out, I paused, looking left and right like I had no idea where I was supposed to go. The hallway was quiet, almost too quiet, and it made me feel like I shouldn’t even be out here in the first place. Still, I stayed there for a few seconds, trying to decide which direction to take. One side looked like it might lead downstairs, while the other led deeper into the second floor, where I assumed their rooms were.
I shifted slightly, still unsure, when all of a sudden, I heard a voice. “Go right.”
I froze instantly, iny entire body going still as my heart skipped a beat. The voice had been clear, too clear. It wasn’t faint, it wasn’t something I could brush off easily, it was right there, like someone had spoken directly next to me. My head turned quickly as I looked around, scanning the hallway like I expected to see someone standing there, but there was no one. No

movement, no sound, nothing.
“What…” I whispered to myself, my voice barely coming out as I frowned slightly.

I stayed there for a few seconds, my heart beating a little faster than before, before I shook my head and let out a small breath. I had to be imagining things, that had to be it. There was no other explanation. Everything that had been happening. all the stress, all the confusion, it was probably just messing with my head.
“Yeah, I muttered quietly. “Definitely imagined that.”
Trying to ignore it, I forced myself to move, and without really thinking about it too much, I turned right. The hallway stretched out in front of me, lined with doors that I assumed led to their rooms. My steps were quiet against the floor since I was barefoot, and for some reason, I found myself walking slowly, almost like I was trying not to be heard. I didn’t know why I was being so careful, but I couldn’t help it. It just felt like I shouldn’t be making noise.
I stopped in front of one of the doors, staring at it for a moment as curiosity got the better of me. It looked unused, or at least, it didn’t feel like anyone was inside. I reached out slowly, my fingers hovering over the handle as I prepared to open it just to take a quick look, and then I heard it again.
“Find him.”
My hand stopped immediately, freezing in mid–air as my breath caught in my throat. This time, there was no way I could pretend I didn’t hear it. The voice was clear, just like before, and it sent a strange chill down my spine. Slowly, I pulled my hand back and turned around, my eyes scanning the hallway again, but just like before, there was no one there.
“Hello?” I called out, my voice unsure as I looked around. “Is someone there?”
Silence answered me, complete silence.
I swallowed hard, my chest rising and falling a little faster now as I stood there, trying to make sense of what was happening. My thoughts were racing, and I started to feel something close to fear.
“What the hell is going on…” I muttered under my breath, my voice shaking slightly, and then the voice came again.
“You’re looking in the wrong place.”
This time. I didn’t even bother turning around. I didn’t look for anyone, didn’t try to find where it was coming from, because deep down, I already knew. It wasn’t coming from outside.
It was in my head.
“What..” I whispered again, my voice barely there as my eyes widened slightly.
“We’re too weak,” the voice continued calmly. “Find him.”
I let out a short, dry laugh, but there was nothing funny about it. My hand went to my head as I shook it slightly, trying to push the voice away like it was something I could physically remove
“Okay,” 1 muttered. “Yeah, I’ve officially lost my mind.”
That had to be it. There was no other explanation that made sense. I was hearing things, and I was imagining things Everything was finally catching up to me, but then the voice spoke again.
“Find him.”
I clenched my jaw slightly, my frustration rising now as I felt my control slipping. “Who are you?” I snapped, my voice louder this time as I looked around even though I knew it was pointless. “And who the hell are you talking about?”
There was a brief pause, and then the voice answered. “I am you.”
