Two hours later, they arrived at Clearfield Hotel.

Everly’s car stopped in its designated parking spot, which she had because she was a shareholder of the hotel.

Just as she got out, a well-dressed man jogged over with a bouquet in hand.

“Are you Ms. Everly Flemming? I’m Nate Tatum. Your uncle introduced me to you. Your mom’s told you about our blind date, right? You’re really busy, so I waited for you here.”

Everly did not want to attend the blind date, but her date actually came all the way to Clearfield Hotel to wait for her.

Needless to say, it was her mother who told this guy she would be here.

Maddie had not dared to call her directly and told Kaden to pass on the message, also to use him to pressure her to go on the blind date.

Everly cast Nate a cold glance, which immediately disabused him of the notion to step closer. He surreptitiously stepped back to put more distance between them even as he forced a smile onto his handsome face.

He looked at Everly with apprehension. Handing the bouquet over was out of the question, but so was not handing it over, so he just stood there awkwardly holding it.

Inwardly, he grumbled that if it were not for the Flemmings’ considerable assets and marrying Everly would mean getting his hands on all of it, with Everly being the only heir, she would not have caught his eye at all.

“Mr. Tatum, was it? Didn’t my mother tell you? I don’t have the time to go on blind dates, and I won’t either. I don’t like going on blind dates, and I’ve said before that I won’t get married. Please leave and never appear before me again.”

After saying this, Everly turned to Sonny, who had stealthily gotten out of the car, and said, “Mr. Brown, let’s head in. My grandfather booked a private room.”

She gestured to Sonny and together walked past Nate to leave.

“Ms. Flemming.”

A burst of courage came out of nowhere and, possibly piqued by Sonny’s utter perfection, Nate actually jogged up to Everly to block her way.
