(Author’s POV)
"Cut to the chase, Gunnar," Fabian ordered, his voice came out stern yet gruff.
Exhaling a sigh, his aide started, "It is not confirmed and is just a rumor. But during Ms. Miracle’s stay at Moon Shine’s packhouse, there was a gruesome rogue attack that took place, despite strict security."
"A rogue attack, near the Lycan King’s packhouse?" Fabian inquired, his right brow hitting the roof. "Didn’t they cast a protective barrier there to avoid such a thing from happening. At least that’s what I am aware of."
"Yes, they do. However, it is said that someone from the Everests’ mansion was severely injured, almost maimed in the process. But all this~ ....it is still just a speculation, and there isn’t any evidence to substantiate this claim," Gunnar stated and then continued, "Even if this information is true, it shouldn’t have anything to do with Ms. Miracle. After all, she is just a plain human." His tone was a bit undermining.
Fabian gave Gunnar a look that was almost a death stare, and the latter instantly zipped his mouth, lowering his eyes and bowing his head. "Mind your words," he warned Gunnar.
He then leaned back in his beige ergonomic chair, his elbows resting on the armrest as he interlaced his fingers and asked, "Is this all the information you got?"
Gunnar pressed his lips together and said, "There is one more thing~ .... young master."
"Do speak up then," Fabian urged him.
"Ms. Miracle departed the Moon Shine packhouse the very next day. I investigated it from a servant, and they said that she had a flight schedule for her hometown, which I checked and got confirmation. But~" Gunnar paused.
"But~?" Fabian’s eyes glinted with something unrecognizable.
"But Ms. Miracle~ ... there is no news of her boarding the plane that day. The airline confirmed that as well. She wasn’t on the flight. Instead, she landed in Damona two days after the day she left the packhouse. And~ ... there is no information on where she was in that period of time," Gunnar concluded.
Fabian didn’t say anything, his mind trying to string every little piece of information together. He suddenly recalled his first meeting with Myra at Garry Yates’ restaurant. From what he remembered, at that time, Myra’s foot was injured. Her foot, especially her thumb, was heavily strapped.
And the story Myra told him about the Everests, at the seminar, now everything was making sense.
’Why Myra does not want to encounter any of the Everests’ guys. Why was she so scared of them finding out about her presence to the point that she was shivering and crying. Why she cut ties with her childhood friend. Why she come to Esteria in the first place. She must have~ ... she must have been involved in that incident.’
"You may dismiss," he said to his aide. Gunnar bowed and was just about to walk out when Fabian called him again, "And~ ... keep the investigation open. Find out where she was for those two days. But don’t make it obvious. Neither the Everests nor my grandfather should get a whiff of it.’
"Yes, young master. I will follow your orders." After taking his instructions, Gunnar disappeared.
Fabian got up from his chair and strode towards the floor to ceiling window leisurely. Looking out, he muttered, "Did Myra already know about their werewolf identity? No~ .... No~ .... If that were the case, they wouldn’t have let Myra leave Kimberg alive. So, what can it be~ .... If this isn’t it~ ... then there is only one possibility. She encountered something extremely ghastly. And that’s why she is fearful of them. That’s why she doesn’t want to be found out. Things are much more serious than they seem. I need to meet her and ask about it in person."

"So, are you feeling good now?" Yelena inquired as she handed Myra a glass of orange juice.
Myra nodded, but her expression wasn’t good enough. The soft, soothing music in the background hadn’t eased her heart even a bit. She gazed at the sea absent mindedly. Her expression remained numb. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Yelena observed her face, a tight lump settling in her throat. She gave Myra a warm and cozy side hug and shook her up. Squishing her left cheek, she said, "M~Y~R~AAAAAAAA ... You know I love you na."
"Ummhmm~" Myra murmured softly, almost in a whisper.
"Aye~ .... I said I love you. Aren’t you going to say, ’I love you too.’ Hmm~ .... Don’t you love me?" Yelena pretended to sulk as she puffed her cheeks. But when she saw a dust particle on Myra’s other cheek, she cleared it up.
Myra’s voice came out hoarse as she said, "I love you too."
"Awwwwwwww~ .... shooo sweet. What a cute couple you guys are," a girl who was enjoying the music with her boyfriend remarked when she heard Myra and Yelena’s conversation.
Yelena beamed at the compliment as she didn’t correct her. She embraced Myra once again and spoke, "Thanks. Isn’t my babe~ ... really adorable?" She then kissed Myra’s cheek, continuing her act.
Myra was dumbfounded, but she didn’t have the energy to say anything on the topic. She just decided to go with the flow. After all, the couple were total strangers to them, so it didn’t even matter.
Yelena then asked the girl, "Are you guys on a date as well?"
She then held Myra’s hand and said, "Let’s go and dance."
"Yelena~ .... I don’t~" Myra was about to decline, but Yelena didn’t give her a chance as she pulled at her hand and said, "Aye~ hey~ ... No, no’s, babe. Just come to the floor and loosen up."
Myra didn’t decline this time. She just let Yelena do whatever she wanted. She, too, needed her mind to be distracted. Maybe dancing would help.

"Sir, everything was going smoothly before, but ever since the government issued the new guidelines. The problems keep persisting," a meek male voice said.
A middle aged, yet well proportionate man was about to say something to the other party, but before that, someone interrupted. He was on a video call, so he muted it and looked at the source.
"Seb~ ... Seb~ are you busy with work?" Amy mumbled almost inaudibly.
Sebastian smiled warmly and answered, "How can I be busy? Do you need something, honey?"
"I~ .... I~ ...." Amy hesitated. She wanted to talk about the dinner plan she had with Myra.
Sebastian caught on that something was off, so he unmuted his video conference and ordered, his facial expression back to being rigid and grim, "Follow along the plan as instructed, and if there is anything that comes as a hindrance, don’t think twice and just get rid of it."
Saying his piece, he disconnected the call and closed the laptop at once. Getting up from his chair, he marched toward Amy a bit impatiently as he loosened his navy with white polka dots tie.
Amy flinched as she saw him come towards her, her eyes dilated. She remained rooted to her spot, knowing exactly what was coming at her.
"Don’t make that face, Amy, it makes me want to do bad things to you. You know it, right?" Sebastian remarked as he came closer and closer to Amy.
