(Author’s POV)
*Ding Dong Ding*
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, VistaLux Airlines’ flight VLX007 is now beginning its descent into Esteria. We expect to land in approximately fourteen minutes. The local time in Esteria is nine twenty two p.m., and the skies are clear with bright stars, with a temperature of 28°C," the pilot’s announcement echoed from the speakers.
Brave sighed heavily when he heard the announcement and then gazed outside the window to see a dense urban landscape illuminated by countless golden and white lights, highlighting the street grids and numerous buildings. "You should have stayed in Kimberg. I don’t want you to get entangled in the mess here," he mumbled softly, almost inaudibly, not wanting the person sitting behind him to hear.
"I heard that, you know. And~ ... no way.... I was going to stay there after watching the horrific news. How could I have sent you alone to deal with the chaos? I am ready to help in any way possible," the person said with a pouty mouth.
"Don’t be stubborn. You were persistent in coming here, so I relented. But~ .... After we get out of the airport, you~ .... will be going to the hotel, and I will be going to the crash site. I have arranged for the vehicle in advance," Brave declared authoritatively.
"But, B~...." The person tried to protest, but Brave cut them off midway, "No buts. Your safety is my topmost priority. So, I won’t be taking no for an answer. It is already decided. If you have anything else to say, you can, but not on this topic." He set his foot down on the matter, not willing to concede.
The person pouted and looked out of the window.

"Ohh~ ... I forgot to tell you about the poor reception here. And~ .... you can’t book any kind of cab from this place," Dion told Myra. Though he sounded genuinely regretful, Myra could tell at a glance that he was just toying with her.
She scoffed internally, clenching her fists tightly, her nails digging into her palms, but she knew she needed to stay calm and alert. So, she asked, "This place? Where is this place, Mr. Everests? Where are we exactly?"
He got up from the bed and walked towards the window to undraw the curtains. A cool and gentle night breeze nestled inside the room, making Myra’s body tingle, as Dion informed, "Where are we~ .... Hmmm? We are~ .... We are in a small town area of Hensenhaven."
"Hensenhaven?" Myra mumbled, her eyes widening as she stared at Dion with a dumbstruck face.
’We are in Hensenhaven? That far? Fucking jerk. He brought me here on purpose,’ She started calculating in her mind how much time it would take her to get to Esteria, and an obvious gloom clouded her expression. ’Shit~ .... I should have kept my emotions in check, just like always, and nothing like my crying or my fainting spell would have happened. Myra~ .... Ohh~ .... Myra, you really fell into a trap this time.’ Myra’s inner voice was at full swing.
"Ummhmm~ .... By the way, isn’t this place beautiful? See, the entire sea is visible from here in its full glory. Don’t you agree with me?" Dion chimed as he glanced at the waning gibbous, brightly lit moon reflected by the vast blues spread ahead of them. The picturesque scenery was breathtaking, even Myra was stunned to see the allure of it.
Dion then turned towards Myra and added, "A perfect place to rest and relax." He ended his words with an expectant smile, his eyes forming an antonym of the moon, a crescent. He walked back to Myra and said, "I guess you are stuck here with me for a while."
Myra stared at him once again, her mind racing. All of a sudden, an idea struck her as she muttered, "So~ .... You are saying, it can’t be helped?"
"Ummhmm~," Dion nodded like a child.
"Then, that’s that," Myra feigned compliance.
Hearing her words, Dion couldn’t help but feel giddy inside. He and Drey can finally have some alone time with Myra. The thought of it was so exhilarating for him that he couldn’t help but blush. He has waited for this for a very long time.
Then Myra added, her voice was filled with guilt, "But I have to inform my family about my extended stay. They must be worried sick about my disappearance. I need to give them a call right now. What do I do?"
