Dion was caught a bit off guard. He didn’t expect Jacob to catch on, even in this state. He decided to lay bare his thoughts, "Your majesty, Jacob, Secretary Chris just told us that while he will be away, Prof. Fabian Stephens will be handling the mansion affairs. Can I ask you the reason why you trust him so much? He is a human with little to no experience. So why?"

"Dion~ ...." Brave was quick to give him a side eye.

"What? We are here to safeguard the Vampire King and ensure his surroundings are unharmed. So, it is only right that we know thoroughly about each and every member who is close to him, especially someone who will have the reins in his hands. What if~ .... what if he tries betray us or set us up? Then what?" Dion voiced out. "You know it is always the enemy that is within that tumbles the entire castle. ’Did Jacob Larson call him special? What is so special about him for them to trust him so blindly?’ Drey remarked. ’To me, he seemed completely ordinary.’

"Young Alphas, Princess~ .... your luggage had been sent to your designated rooms. Let me show you the way," Gunnar came and told them formally. The three of them followed him, but as they were about to turn around the corner, Dion took a glance at Fabian, whose hands were fisted, eyes reddened, as he was unconsciously hitting the side of his abdomen repeatedly.

As soon as Dion reached his room, the first thing he did was to make a call to his secret aide.

"Hello, Anya, I have another task for you. Find out detailed information about the person named Fabian Stephens. He is a professor at Red Stone."

"On it, Young Alpha," Anya, as always, took her orders. He then inquired, "What about the matter I asked to unearth?"

"I am looking into it. By tonight, I will give you an answer," Anya said perfunctory tone. "Okay~ ...." Saying this, he disconnected the line.
