Chapter 455: I Agree

(Author’s POV)

"Mr. Garcia, my daughter is resting," William said firmly.

To keep his promise to Amy, Sebastian came to talk to Myra, but William and Sandra were shielding her door like an iron wall, determined not to let anyone pass through. At least, no one from the Garcias. But this time, he came with absolute resolve. Either this Chapter will be completed with a mother-daughter reunion, or it will end their barely hanging relationship once and for all. He wanted finality.

"Mr. Miracle, my wife, even after fainting, has been calling out Ms. Miracle’s name. She just wants to have a good talk with her. Can’t you even let them meet just once?" Sebastian asked.

William pursed his lips. He was about to falter and allow, but Sandra remained stubborn, "I can understand your feelings, Mr. Garcia. I truly sympathize with you and your wife, but~ ... our daughter, she has already suffered enough stress and trauma. She has been through hell and back. I don’t want to add another thing to her plate. The doctor has specifically told us that any sort of distressing situation or talk can be dangerous for her health. So~ ... please, understand our side as well."

"Amy just wants to talk," Sebastian insisted. "Give them ten minutes, at least."

Seeing his desperate state, William could tell something might have happened at the dinner meeting. He said, his voice reverberated coldly, "My wife had already told you our decision. Please~ .... Mr. Garcia~ ..." he gestured from Sebastian to take his leave.

Clenching his fists, he was about to turn around when a voice all too familiar came from inside the room, "D~ad~ .... Mom~ ...."

The feeling of déjà vu hit William as he recalled last night’s incident. He rushed into the room in a panic; Sandra followed behind. Sebastian hesitated as he stood rooted on the ajar door.

William and Sandra reached Myra’s side, and started asking questions, "Baby~ ... what is it? Are you alright? Did you have another nightmare? Are you hungry? Are you thirsty? Do you need something? Tell mom and dad~ ... tell us, and we will get it for you."

Myra stared at her parents for a few seconds.

These two people~ .... they were not her biological parents, but they chose her as their family. They are the ones who extended their arms when she had no family. They gave her their last name. They are the ones who raised her, nurturing her beautifully. The ones who gave her all the love one would give to their own flesh and blood. They never once discriminated against her, nor did they let her feel like an outcast.

Since the tender age of five, she has been surrounded by caring people. People who loved her wholeheartedly, unconditionally and would even dare to risk their lives for the sake of her safety, who would draw her back from the jaws of death. They were her family. Her real family.

’Yes, I already have a real family. So, why should I be afraid of anything?’ She thought.

"MYRA~ ... my child~ ... speak up. Tell us, what happened?" Sandra was way too concerned for her daughter.

She let out an exhausting sigh and said, "Mom, Dad, please tell Mr. Garcia on my behalf that I am willing to meet Mrs. Garcia." Her voice came out plain.
