Chapter 496: The Crimson Court’s Healer

(Author’s POV)

"Why are you back alone, Nora? Didn’t you say you and Myra would go to the Grand Opulence and you guys would be spending the day with Mother? What happened? Where is~ ...My~ra?" Brave queried when he saw Nora return to the mansion all alone. He and his wolf, Raw, have both been waiting for Myra since morning.

"Ahh~ ... that’s what I planned, but~ *sigh* .... I didn’t get the chance to talk to her," Nora plopped onto the couch. "She already had some other plans and went there," her tone was casual. She didn’t mention anything regarding Fabian.

Her words instantly dampened Brave’s spirit. The spark in his eyes dimmed as well. For some reason, his curiosity piqued as he couldn’t help but ask, "Other plans? She just discharged yesterday~ .... so where did she go?"

Nora was a bit taken aback by his sudden interest. She thought Brave, unlike Dion or Elio, wouldn’t inquire more, but now that he did, she didn’t know what to tell him. Inside, Aura was pinching her, urging her constantly to tell Brave, ’Why don’t you tell him that Myra went with that handsome professor on a date? Just tell him, Nora. Just tell him. He has every right to know. They could be mates.’

’No, didn’t we discuss it before?’ Nora remained adamant, her voice hushed. ’Aura, we aren’t making things complicated for Myra.’

"She~ ..." her voice trailed, "I don’t know where she had gone to." She wasn’t lying about this part.

"Young Alpha Brave, Princess Nora," Iris spoke while entering the living room, her tone respectful. Nora got up as both the siblings nodded and greeted her back, "Healer Hector." Then Nora asked, "How is his majesty, Mr. Larson’s health? Any improvement from before?"

Iris pursed her lips, her expression tight. She was trying her best not to reveal too much, "He is holding up~ ... for now. The last two words came out muffled, almost inaudible. Chris Shadow hadn’t returned till now, even though it had been several days. She had tried to contact him, but his phone didn’t connect no matter how many times she tried. And there weren’t any other sources she could contact him through. Now, tomorrow was the ultimate day, D-day~ .... the day for the summer solstice, and there was still no sign of him.

All this was making her anxious to death, eating her from the inside. But she couldn’t even tell anyone about it. What would she even say? That Jacob Larson, the powerful king of the Vampires, was dying slowly. That if he didn’t receive the gold blood soon, he would perish, cease to exist. If the word got out, the Vampire community, no~ ... the entire world would be in turmoil. The Elders who have been eyeing that prestigious position would go all out, rampaging to remove Jacob from the earth, once and for all.

She was in deep thought when a familiar voice echoed in the living room, "Healer Hector, good that you are here."

Everyone’s eyes turned to the entrance as Brain Tape strode inside, his walk steady. Behind him was Catherine Richards, looking as poised as ever as she stepped on the marble floor with pure elegance. There was someone else with them as well. A man, as pale as ivory. His hair were a mix of grey and golden.

"Elder Tape, Elder Richards," Iris quickly greeted, though her eyes held wariness. The man with them, he looked familiar to her.

"Young Alpha and the Lycan princess are here as well," Brian glanced at them briefly. Catherine didn’t even acknowledge them. She looked straight at Iris and asked with her arms crossed, "Healer Hector, how is his majesty doing?"

"Elder Richards, he is doing absolutely fine," Iris replied, trying to sound confident.

A light scoff escaped Brian’s mouth as he added, "Healer Hector, don’t kid us. Elder Richard isn’t asking you. We are going to see his majesty today, and no one can stop us." He gazed at the two Lycan siblings and repeated, "No one~ ..."

"The Vampire King has said so. Without his permission, no one is allowed in his chamber," Brave said deliberately. He lowered his posture to come to Brian’s level and repeated, "No~ ...One."
