Elowen heard the noise and ran over, nervously instructing a servant to fetch a towel. She looked at Aurora with a reproachful gaze and said, “Aurora, this is too much. Zane is young; even if he offended you, you can’t just push him into the water. Heath and Alaric have never disciplined him like this.”

Aurora laughed, “Elowen, on what grounds are you defending Zane? Even if he’s young, he’s an adult. He can communicate with me himself. As for whether Heath and Alaric will blame me, you’re welcome to go tattle right now. I’m not going anywhere.”

Elowen bit her lip, looking pitifully silent. She took the towel from the servant to wipe Zane’s hair, but Zane dodged her, taking the towel and covering his own head.

He’s the one who got hurt, okay? He’s the victim here. Why does no one care about him?

Elowen softly said, “It’s a good thing Zane knows how to swim. Otherwise, if he got hurt from Aurora’s joke…”

Alaric walked over to comfort her, “It’s okay, he’s not hurt, don’t worry.”

Zane sneered; he didn’t care for Elowen’s concern.

Tears filled Elowen’s eyes. Alaric sighed, “These things don’t depend on who came first. Otherwise, why haven’t you noticed me all these years?”

Alaric entered the banquet hall. Elowen stood alone by the poolside, watching his retreating figure, clenching her fists.

If not for Aurora, Heath should have been hers.

Heath took Aurora back to their villa, asking, “Did you really throw Zane into the pool?”

She hummed, saying, “No, I’m fine living with Grandpa.”

Heath didn’t press, “Just don’t let Sophia bully you. Call me if anything happens.”

Aurora nodded, rang the doorbell, and as the villa door opened, Jay’s anxious voice came, “Aurora! Is that you?”

Aurora, … Yes, I’m back.”

Jay ran out to look at her, “If you didn’t come back, your grandpa was going to send me to find you!”

Aurora sighed, “I was just at a party, no need to worry.”

Heath frowned; he had seen this man before. In the photos Kieran gave him, and among those who Aurora personally picked up at the airport, this man was there.

“Aurora, who is he?” Heath asked.

Aurora composed herself, “This is Jay, my driver and bodyguard.”

She had kept Jay by her side, so she had to be prepared for everything.

Aurora looked at Heath, hoping he wouldn’t make things difficult for her. Heath smiled, “It’s good that someone is protecting you; it puts my mind at ease.”

He turned and got back into the car. Aurora sighed in relief and followed Jay back into the villa.

Heath called Kieran, “How’s the investigation on Olivia going?”

Kieran sighed, “Sir, I’ve been diligent, but I can’t find much.”

Heath rubbed his temples, “Tell Eamon what you’ve found. Work together and hurry.”

Kieran agreed and hung up. Heath leaned back in the car, eyes closed, thinking of Aurora’s unforgettable smile.
