Chapter 146
On the other side, at the Fairbank Building.
Heath was flipping through documents, signing them. He paused to ask, “How is Silas doing?”
“Following your order, every time he woke up and tried to leave the hospital, we sent him back in. So, Silas hasn’t been discharged yet, and he refuses any visitors. With bodyguards watching him, he’s probably terrified,” Kieran reported the situation.
Heath scoffed, “With such little courage, he dared to have Aurora kidnapped? Be harder on him, find out who helped him with those
deeds.”
“Yes, President,” Kieran replied.

Every day, Silas hid in his hospital room, too scared to leave. He knew the moment he stepped out, a group of men would appear out of nowhere and beat him up. Once, they even nearly drowned him in a lake, pulling him up only when he was about to suffocate. The fear was overwhelming; he didn’t want to die.
But as long as he stayed in the hospital room, with bodyguards at the door, no one would hit him, and he could sleep peacefully.
Today, Silas was cowering in his room when the door suddenly opened, revealing not his familiar bodyguard but a group of men in suits.
“Who are you? Who let you in? Get out! Where are the bodyguards?” Silas yelled.
One of the men, dressed in a sleek black suit, brought in a chair. Kieran sat down, exuding an air of casual authority, and said, “Sir, there’s no need to shout. Your bodyguards can’t protect you for now.”
“Who are you? What do you want?” Silas asked warily.
“I just want to ask a few questions. Please, Sir, cooperate and answer truthfully,” Kieran said with a smile.
“Why should I agree?” Silas asked.
“You can refuse, but then my bodyguards will tie you outside the window until you’re ready to cooperate. Your room is on the seventh floor, as far as I know,” Kieran stated.
Silas broke out in a cold sweat at the thought of being thrown from the seventh floor.
“It seems you’re ready then, Sir? Let’s start,” Kieran said. “Tell me, Mr. Silas Song, who helped you kidnap Miss Aurora?”
Silas was startled. These people were here for Aurora?
“It was… her sister… she called me, said she’d deliver Aurora to my bed…” Silas hesitated, wondering about Aurora’s background.
“The sister, is it Sophia?” Kieran inquired.
“Yes, Aurora only has one sister, right? Who knows what deep hatred they have between them, I didn’t ask,” Silas said.
“Did Sophia instruct you to insult Aurora?” Kieran pressed on.

“She didn’t say that, but I’ve told her several times that I’m interested in Aurora, and she delivered her to my bed. Isn’t that obvious? Who knew Aurora would be so fierce to stab me?” Silas said, almost in tears.
He had only wanted to sleep with Aurora, but instead, he got stabbed and now was harassed by someone backing Aurora.
“Sir, you should be grateful that you only got stabbed,” Kieran said, standing up and preparing to leave.
“Hey! Who exactly are you guys? Did Aurora find another rich patron?” Silas asked.
Kieran chuckled. A patron? Their boss indeed wanted to take care of her, but the issue was Aurora didn’t care for it…
He glanced back at Silas and said, “Sir, I’ll take my leave.”
Silas really knew nothing; the Song family had a significant business, yet he failed to recognize Kieran, Heath’s special assistant.
Kieran returned to the company and handed the recording to Heath. Placing the recorder aside, Heath asked, “Sophia’s doing?”
Kieran nodded, “Silas said it’s Sophia, but whether others are helping her, we’re not sure.”
“No need to confirm, just give the recording to Aurora and let her handle it,” Heath said.
“What should we do about Silas, President?” Kieran inquired.
“Let him be discharged. Then, check who Thane has been interacting with recently, and find a way to send them to Silas‘ bed,” Heath ordered, without looking up from his documents.
Kieran was taken aback and reminded, “President, given his fiery temperament, he’s likely to stir up a storm at the Song family.”
“Let him make trouble. The bigger, the better,” Heath replied.
“Boss, your father might not be happy,” Kieran said, not wanting Heath to drift further from his father.
Heath looked up at Kieran, “You’ve been talking a lot lately.”
Kieran immediately lowered his head, “Sorry, I overstepped. I’ll get on it right away.”
Heath didn’t care whether his father was happy or not. In fact, when facing him, he behaved like a child, eager to upset him, as this was the only way he could think of to get back at him.
Heath drove away his father’s children, leaving him to live a life of loneliness. Firmly holding the Fairbank Corporation in his own hands, marginalizing his father’s power.
The next day.
Sophia once again stated in an interview that she was indeed harassed, affecting her recent work status.
Aurora watched the entertainment news. In recent days, Sophia had repeatedly expressed her hope for Zane to come forward and apologize, and for Skyline Media to give her an explanation. However, under the guidance of Heath and Alaric, Skyline Media maintained silence, neither admitting nor responding. Regardless of what Sophia said, Skyline and Zane remained inactive, as if they had disappeared from the internet.

However, netizens discovered that Zane was frequently online, but remained silent. This led to more people believing Zane was avoiding the issue, with many insulting him online.
After Cheryl and Daxton spoke up for Zane, they refused any interviews and kept silent on the matter, perceived by the public as siding with Zane, and thus losing many work opportunities.
After receiving the recording from Heath, Aurora confirmed that the drugging incident indeed involved Sophia. But if Kieran could suspect Sophia of having accomplices, surely Aurora would consider this possibility too? Whenever Sophia did something wrong, wasn’t her absurd mother involved?
Since these two never stopped causing trouble, Aurora was ready to return the favor.
Zane sent the phone number he received for the message to Aurora. She had Jay track the number, which was easy since the phone number was registered under real name. Unsurprisingly, it was bought by Sophia’s assistant.
A week passed, and there was still no news from Zane or Skyline about terminating any contracts. Although Cheryl’s reputation was slightly tarnished, she still held a position in the entertainment industry.
Anxiety crept over Sophia’s face, a storm brewing in her eyes. She went to great lengths to entrap Zane, even risking ruining her own reputation, just to pull Zane down with her. Her ultimate goal was to push Cheryl out of the entertainment industry. But now, although Zane’s reputation was ruined, Cheryl continued her career unscathed, still a rising star competing with her. Sophia couldn’t stand it – she was determined to oust Cheryl.
Evelyn Media officially announced a press conference for the next morning at ten o’clock to discuss the events Sophia experienced at the dinner and to accept all interviews.
Aurora snapped her laptop shut. She had been waiting for this day. Sophia had set the stage herself, and now it was time for her to perform. Aurora wouldn’t miss it – it was only right to support the drama her dear sister had arranged.
