Chapter 150
Sophia, facing Aurora’s unwavering confidence, felt a surge of anxiety. The situation had reached a point of no return.
Pointing to the displayed screen, Sophia’s voice quivered, “During the Film and Drama Festival, Zane… he intruded into my room and attempted to… to…”
Struggling to continue, she covered her mouth, tears streaming down. The reporters and audience, witnessing her distress, sympathized deeply.
Aurora, maintaining a stoic expression, clarified, “So, what you’re suggesting is that Zane entered your room uninvited, engaged in inappropriate behavior, inflicting both physical and emotional trauma, correct?”
Sophia nodded, her voice lost in the gravity of the moment.

Aurora proceeded, “This is indeed a grave accusation. Fortunately, I have secured a surveillance video that comprehensively captures the event.” Stressing the word “comprehensively,” she handed a USB to a staff member. The video began playing on the large screen.
Sophia watched the screen, smirking to herself. Her video was unedited, showing the same sequence repeatedly. However, the video suddenly erupted with distinct voices.
The footage revealed Zane, disoriented, buttoning his shirt, asking, “Why are you here? Where’s Cheryl?”
Sophia, in tears, retorted, “Cheryl? What are you talking about?”
Zane, visibly confused, said, “Isn’t this Cheryl’s room? Why are you in it?”
Sophia, pointing accusingly at him, cried out, “Zane, you’re despicable! How dare you assault me!”
Zane, visibly taken aback, protested, “What? Are you insane? Why would I ever assault you?”
As the video concluded with Zane on his phone, presumably speaking to Cheryl, Sophia’s confidence faltered. Why did Aurora’s video have audio? Weren’t surveillance videos supposed to be silent?
The reporters, equally stunned, pondered the implications. Was Zane’s actual intention to find Cheryl, not to molest Sophia?
Aurora turned back to Sophia and stated, “I have two pressing questions for you. Please, respond candidly.”
Sophia, swallowing her nervousness, realized that Aurora wouldn’t let her off the hook easily.
“Firstly,” Aurora began, “you claim Zane forced his way into your room and attempted to remove your towel. Yet, throughout the video, he consistently mentions seeking Cheryl. Secondly, considering Zane’s physical stature, if he truly intended to assault you and grappled with your towel, how were you able to fend him off and eject him from the room unaided?” Aurora concluded her inquiries, awaiting Sophia’s explanation.
The room fell into a tense silence, everyone’s eyes fixed on Sophia. Aurora’s sharp questions highlighted numerous inconsistencies.
Sophia was speechless for a moment. Aurora spoke up, “Shall I answer for you? It’s quite straightforward: you’re fabricating this story. Zane was actually searching for Cheryl and accidentally encountered you instead. He left immediately, without any confrontation. Isn’t that the truth?”

Chapter 150
:
“No! That’s not it… Zane mistook me for Cheryl… he approached me, and I screamed… only then did he realize his mistake and left. That’s the real story! Sophia hastily concocted a new narrative, her expression a mix of fear and desperation.
“So, you’re admitting Zane wasn’t there for you?” Aurora pressed on.
Yes… No, I mean, he was looking for Cheryl! I don’t know their relationship. He thought I was her!” Sophia’s story was crumbling under its own contradictions, her main aim to tarnish Zane, Cheryl, and even Aurora.
The reporters were abuzz with this twist. Zane’s motive wasn’t to harass Sophia but to find Cheryl? What was their relationship?
“Miss Aurora, can you clarify Zane and Cheryl’s relationship?”
“Is there something more between Zane and Cheryl?”
“Are they revealing a romance, or is there another secret?”
“As their boss, do you know about their interactions?”
“Is Cheryl defending Zane out of romance or due to another reason?”
The reporters fired questions at Aurora, who calmed them, “First, Zane and Cheryl are simply colleagues. There’s no inappropriate relationship. Regarding why Zane went to that room, observe the screen.”
The screen displayed a text: “I’m Cheryl, in room 0523’s bathroom, need help!”
“This message led Zane to 0523, mistaking it for Cheryl’s room, which was actually 0532. Cheryl hadn’t sent any message nor was she in any trouble. So, someone lured Zane to 0523 intentionally!” Aurora’s explanation was backed by evidence on the screen, validating her
statement.
“Miss Aurora, are you implying Sophia orchestrated this against Zane?” a reporter inquired.
Aurora, with a knowing smile, “I wouldn’t say that, but consider this – the number used to send the message was registered under Sophia’s assistant.”
Aurora turned her gaze to Sophia’s assistant, a slight smile playing on her lips. “We’ve discovered that the ID used to purchase the anonymous phone number is registered to your assistant. Should she admit to orchestrating this scheme against Zane, Fairview Media will initiate a defamation lawsuit.”
