“Someone should inform the authorities about her actions!”
“I find myself repentant for misjudging Zane. I was so very wrong.”
“From this day forward, I am an unwavering supporter of Zane.”
‘Zane’s employer embodies the essence of a powerful business magnate. Her presence is captivating!”
These comments ricocheted around the live broadcast room. Amidst the residual commotion, the police made their entrance, heading straight for Sophia. “Miss Sophia Pendleton, you’re being detained on suspicion of criminal conspiracy. We require your cooperation for further investigation.”
Sophia, seated disconsolately on the floor, was the epitome of defeat. She had not anticipated Aurora turning the tables with such finesse and totality.
Once again, it was Aurora who orchestrated her downfall.
Aurora approached Sophia, extending a helping hand that went unacknowledged in Sophia’s state of shock.
With a serene smile, Aurora knelt down, adjusting Sophia’s disheveled attire, and whispered ominously, “Did I not forewarn you? To dare oppose me? I vowed to one day reduce you and your mother to mere paupers within the Pendleton family.”
In a surge of fury, Sophia attacked Aurora, attempting to throttle her while screaming, “Aurora! You will not survive this! I swear it!”
Ethan suddenly burst from the crowd, grabbing Sophia in a tight hug. “Sophia, chill out! Just take a deep breath!”
Zane and Alaric quickly jumped into the fray. Alaric pulled Sophia away and handed her off to the cops, then hurried to help Aurora, asking with concern, “Hey, you okay? Didn’t get hurt, did you?”
Aurora, massaging her neck with a small smile, coughed a bit and reassured, “I’m good, no harm done.”
Zane, clearly agitated, stormed up to Ethan and landed a punch on his face, blurting out, “Didn’t I tell you not to touch your fiancée? Only a blind man like you could fall for such a crazy woman!”
Alaric stepped in to separate Zane, reminding him, “Reporters are watching, let’s handle this later.”
Zane: “…”
Aurora Pendleton: “…”
The reporters: “…”
“Keep it up, we’ll just pretend we didn’t see anything…”
Seeing the faint red marks on Aurora’s neck, Zane yelled at the police, “Isn’t this intentional harm? I’m pressing charges! Arrest her!”
The police, focused on their case and ignoring the personal drama, led Sophia away as the reporters furiously clicked away at their

Sophia, now a mess with her dress dirty and makeup ruined, looked completely shattered. This time, she had clearly lost.
With Sophia and her crew gone, the scene was left to Aurora and the rest.
Rubbing her neck again and coughing, Aurora thought to herself, ‘Wow, Sophia really doesn’t know her own strength.‘
Aurora addressed the room, her voice steady, “Fairview Media, a new venture, is dedicated to hard work and creativity. Our artists tirelessly strive to bring quality works to the forefront. I urge everyone to seek truth amidst online rumors and not inadvertently aid cyberbullying.”
Alaric, clearing his throat, announced, “With Sophia’s departure with the police, this episode concludes. As witnessed, Boss Aurora sustained an injury. Let’s allow her some respite. Interviews can be scheduled later.”
The reporters, though reluctant, nodded in understanding. They had arrived with intentions to confront Zane but found themselves, unwittingly, in the role Aurora described. A sense of collective guilt permeated the air.
As the reporters stepped aside, Aurora, flanked by her companions, exited the venue.
In the parking lot, they were greeted by Kieran, who stood beside an adjacent vehicle. “Miss Aurora, your wait is over. Please, get in,” he said with a smile.
Aurora, Alaric, and Zane got into her car, with Jay at the wheel.
Upon settling into the backseat, Aurora was suddenly pulled close by Heath. He scrutinized her neck, marked by a stark red line.
His face clouded over. “Why didn’t you dodge? Were you unable to?”
Aurora replied playfully, “I’ll be more careful next time.”
Heath sighed, recognizing her intention to provoke Sophia for the cameras, yet questioned the need for such self–endangerment.
“Does it hurt?” he asked, his rough fingers brushing the mark, eliciting a shiver from Aurora. “No, it doesn’t hurt. I’m fine,” she reassured.
Heath, sighing again, released her chin. To Kieran, he said, “Ask Lysander for some medicine,”
Kieran nodded in agreement. Aurora, clinging to Heath’s arm, protested, “It’s just a minor injury. No need to trouble Lysander, right?
Heath smiled gently. ‘It’s fine. He’s already en route.”
Aurora, puzzled, wondered about Heath’s cryptic comment.
They headed to the apartment for a quick change before getting back into the car. “Are we dining out?” Aurora inquired.
Heath nodded. “Yes, let’s enjoy a meal on someone else’s dime.”
Kieran drove them to the Strider residence. Aurora, surprised, asked, “Why are we dining here?”
