Chapter 246
Heath packed up his luggage, descended the stairs, and dug out a set of fishing gear, dragging Aurora along for a fishing adventure.
Aurora was baffled again, “Where are we going fishing?”
“You’ll see when we get there.” Heath, carrying the fishing gear, led Aurora on a walk that lasted about twenty minutes, ending up healde
a lake.
Heath picked a spot to sit down, took out a fishing rod and bait, and looked at Aurora, ‘Do you know how to fish?”
“Of course!” Aurora responded immediately.
How hard could fishing be? Just sit and wait for the fish to bite.
Heath handed Aurora a fishing rod and suggested, “How about a little competition?”
Aurora’s interest was piqued instantly. She squatted next to Heath, mimicking his actions to fix the bait onto the hook.
Taking a few steps back, Heath swung his arm, sending the hook flying far into the water, where the bobber steadied with a gentle sway. He then turned to watch Aurora cast her line.
Aurora, attempting to emulate Heath, swung her rod, but her hook didn’t land as gracefully in the water as Heath’s had. Instead, it nearly snagged some weeds at the lake’s edge.
Aurora felt a twinge of annoyance. It was just a tiny hook; how could she have missed the water?
Heath chuckled softly, walked up behind her, and guided her hand, teaching her the proper way to cast. This time, Aurora managed to get the hook into the water successfully.
Then, it was just a matter of sitting by the shore, waiting for a fish to bite. But Aurora’s patience soon wore thin.
She was far from the composed sniper she had been trained to be. Becoming Aurora meant her mind was cluttered with a myriad of thoughts, making her just an ordinary girl among the masses.
Sitting beside this man, she found herself involuntarily wanting to look at him.
Despite her fidgeting, not a single fish took the bait, whereas Heath had already reeled in two.
Running out of patience, Aurora set down her rod and scooted next to Heath, asking in a soft voice, “What’s for dinner?*
“Eating fish, of course. We’ll eat what we catch,” Heath replied.
Aurora glanced at her empty bucket and frowned, “Does that mean I’ll go hungry?”

Heath nodded, “If things keep going this way, possibly.”
With a quick thought, Aurora grabbed Heath’s bucket and made a run for it, shouting, “First come, first served!
Heath dropped his rod and caught up to her in a few strides, pinning her against a tree. His deep eyes locked onto hers as he asked, “Rebelling, are you?”
Aurora pouted, “Just being bold, can’t help it.”
“Oh? Let’s see how bold you really are!” With that, Heath leaned in to kiss Aurora’s lips.

The sound of the lake’s flowing water and the occasional bird chirping on the tree, along with the sunset’s glow surrounding them, created a scene as beautiful as a painting.
It wasn’t until Aurora’s bucket clattered to the ground that she awkwardly pushed Heath away.
Heath looked at her with a low chuckle, “Thought you were bold? Why the blushing?”
Aurora’s face turned red, and she mumbled in a voice as quiet as a mosquito’s buzz, “The… the fish fell out…”
Heath squatted down with her to put the fish back into the bucket.
Aurora’s hands were cold. Heath frowned; it was deep autumn, and indeed, the nights were getting colder.
He packed up the fishing gear and took Aurora’s hand, “Let’s go back and cook.”
Aurora didn’t feel the cold, bouncing along and asking, “Are you cooking tonight? What are we having?”
Heath shook his head, “I’m not cooking. You do it.”
Aurora frowned, “But I don’t know how.”
Heath looked equally troubled, “If you don’t know, how will you become a virtuous wife and good mother in the future?”
