Me And My Billionaire Husband (Aurora and Heath) novel Chapter 304

Chapter 304

Aurora lay quietly in Heath’s arms, eyes closed. For the first time since her rebirth, she poured out her heart completely. From now on, she wouldn’t have to live in fear, not tiptoe around Heath, worried he might discover her secret at any moment.

He had wholly accepted her, understanding every facet of her life.

Aurora had thought that unraveling the mystery of her rebirth would be a tangled mess of emotions, shocking and frightening Heath. Yet, when she spoke of her rebirth, his reaction was as mild as if she were commenting on the day’s catch being particularly tasty.

Heath held her, his heart aching with nothing but compassion for her.

His girl had traversed mountains and rivers, bridging the gap between two souls to be with him. What more could he ask for?

In the quiet of the hospital room, Heath suddenly asked, cradling Aurora, So, you really do have feelings for Dominic, right?

Aurora was speechless.

Really, was that the takeaway? How did he manage to extract that Aurora liked Dominic from their entire conversation?

Heath frowned slightly, Eamon dug up your past. He said you and Dominic were childhood sweethearts, that you’ve faced death for him more than once.

Aurora shrank back, too scared to speak. What could she say? She did have a naive crush on Dominic once, but claiming she had braved life and death for him was a stretchJasper and others had done just as much for Dominic. How could it all fall on her?

Seeing her silence, Heath’s frustration flared. She did love Dominic, had grown up with him, and had even been killed by Isabella for him. Seeing Dominic again at the Whitmore estate, she had gazed at him as if no one else existed.

Heath got out of bed, intending to return to his own room. Panic seized Aurora; she jumped out of bed and hugged him from behind. Her pale arms wrapped tightly around his waist, her hands clasping firmly in front.

I didn’t! Haven’t I told you? I love you! It’s you I care about!Aurora pleaded urgently.

Heath’s voice was tinged with hurt, That’s not what you said in the cave when I was unconscious

I love you! Please, don’t goAurora implored.

She was terrified that on this night, after sharing her past with Heath, she would be left alone with her tumultuous thoughts.

Heath coughed, halfjoking, If you keep squeezing me like this, Lysander might have to come rescue me again

Aurora immediately loosened her grip, instead holding onto the hem of Heath’s shirt, looking up at him with eyes soft and tender, It’s you I loveCan’t we just forget all this anger?

Heath turned around, taking Aurora’s hand, and led her back to bed. Aurora, puzzled, asked, What are we doing?

Heath lay down, pulling her into his embrace and drawing the covers over them. With a click, he turned off the light, murmuring, Let’s sleep.

In the dark of the night, only Aurora’s wide, shimmering eyes were visible, glowing like precious gems in the velvety darkness.

Heath felt a ticklish sensation in his heart, quieting the tumult within. He pressed Aurora’s head into his chest, whispering. Sleep.

Her voice, muffled by his embrace, asked, Are you not mad anymore?

Heath, eyes closed, assured her, I’m not mad.

Then why have you been ignoring me?

I haven’t been ignoring you.

Are you really not mad?

Heath’s voice, a blend of reassurance and weariness, concluded their night’s tumult, I’m really not mad.

Heath clenched his fists in frustration, rolling over to pin Aurora beneath him, silencing her incessant chatter with a kiss. It was meant as a punishment for her unwitting temptation, but as their lips met, memories of their recent brushes with death flooded back. Aurora had recklessly risked her life more than once to save him, igniting a fierce anger within Heath.

The mere thought of what might have happened if Eamon hadn’t arrived just in time was unbearable. Those men would have hesitated for nothing, tearing at Aurora’s clothes, and Rudi’s bullet could have ended her life. There would be no more Aurora, no more of her endless babbling.

She wouldn’t get another lucky break, another chance at rebirth. If that moment had come, not even Heath, with all the powers at his disposal, could bring

her back.

Just considering such a possibility made Heath’s heart constrict with pain. Yet, he was powerless to do anything but hold her, his form of punishment.

Aurora, catching her breath, looked up at Heath in confusion, not understanding the sudden kiss.

Heath, propped above her, gazed into her bright eyes and sternly warned, Next time, if you dare to take a bullet for me again, I’ll truly be angry!

Aurora shrank back, mumbling, Butif you’re in danger, I just

No buts! Rory, listen to me clearly. No matter how dangerous the situation, no matter whether I can escape it or not, you are not to stand in front of me! You’re my woman, stay safely behind me, and don’t you dare put yourself in any danger!Heath’s expression was dead serious, insisting on Aurora’s

agreement.

Aurora’s eyes sparkled as she countered, You love me, you would take a bullet for me. Why can’t I do the same? If there’s a next time

Heath silenced her with another kiss, then lifted his head and held her tightly, assuring, There won’t be a next time. I won’t let you face danger again

Aurora could feel Heath’s hands trembling slightly. Even this man, always so strategic and composed, felt fear and residual terror at the thought of losing her. Aurora was delighted, feeling cherished and adored by her Heath.

Snuggling closer to him, she nodded, I understand, fiancé.

Heath paused, kissing her forehead, then sighed resignedly, Let’s sleep.

Aurora was his fated trial in life, seemingly needing to do nothing, say nothing. Just a few blinks of her beautiful eyes, a slight pout, and Heath was

rendered powerless, left with no option but to pamper her endlessly.

That night, in Aurora’s hospital room, they fell asleep in each other’s arms, with no barriers left between them. All truths laid bare, there would be no more
